The Pastor currently trending for saying Jesus hates poor people and didn't associate with them, has said many ridiculous things in the past. So, I ain't surprised.
ReplyDeleteHowever, the God I serve, NEVER ostracized the poor. He associated with them, ate with them, and healed their illnesses. He's a Just God who identifies with the sufferings of the poor, orphans, widows, helpless and downtrodden. There are several scriptural passages that demonstrate just how much God VALUES the poor, and what He thinks those who are rich, should do to help alleviate their suffering.
If anything, He even cautioned about the dangers of wealth. For example, He said "it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God...". It means wealth can actually make humans derail and misbehave.
That's how the other Prophet (🙄) in Warri claimed that God gave him everything to sell - from keys to the kingdom, to honey of mercy, water of expansion etc. He even recorded when God 'spoke' to him. Chai. SMH.
The problem with many believers, is a lack of proper Bible Study. If you don't search the scriptures and know God for yourself, many 'pastors' go use you play 10-10, and you will learn in a hard way!
The things some supposed MOGs say, makes you wonder if they had a feast of fermented communion. 🤦

Lenten Reflection – Day 36: Breaking our Alabaster Box
ReplyDeleteVerse for Meditation: “But Jesus said, “Let her alone. Why do you trouble her? She has done a good work for Me. For you have the poor with you always, and whenever you wish you may do them good; but Me you do not have always.” (Mark 14:6-7)
Reflection:
There is no way we can journey through the season of Lent without reflecting on the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus and what it cost Him to purchase the salvation of humanity. It cost Him everything – glory, dignity, comfort, royalty and all that comes with being part of the Godhead. The woman with the alabaster jar in Mark 14 gave her most precious possession to honor Jesus. It was extravagant, risky, and beautiful. Lent calls us to examine what we are holding back and to pour out our best — our time, love, resources—at the feet of Jesus. If Jesus gave everything, don’t you think it right to reciprocate His gift in like manner?
Action Steps:
• Identify what “alabaster box” you need to break for Jesus.
• Worship extravagantly, not sparingly.
• Offer your best to God with joy.
Think About This: What does wholehearted devotion to Christ look like in your life?
Prayer Points:
• Give thanks for the gift of Christ. Appreciate God for everything that Christ did and gave for you.
• Pray for the courage to give your all to Jesus.
• Ask God to help you lay down your most precious offerings.
Let us Pray: Lord Jesus, You are worthy of all I have. Help me to hold nothing back. Let my life be a sweet fragrance poured out in worship to You. Amen.

Yesterday, I entered a public vehicle, and somehow, the topic of a particular birthday came up. One conversation led to another, and soon the entire vehicle was buzzing with loud voices, all echoing the same sentiment.......every wealthy woman is an ahewo, and every wealthy man is either into yahoo or rituals🤣🤣.
ReplyDeleteIn my heart, I wanted to scream, "That’s not true oo. But I knew my voice would be too faint for them to hear. I got home and kept thinking, how did we even get here? Is this assumption really true?
I have seen people rise from absolutely nothing. One opportunity like a contract, an investment, an agency deal, a supply gig, a connection and boom! Their lives changed completely, never to return to poverty. So many men and women are working tirelessly behind the scene, legitimately plotting their graphs, running multiple businesses. We only hear about them when their midnight efforts yield results. We judge them by what we see and not what we know.
My mind drifted to someone like president Goodluck Jonathan. The man’s rise for me was purely by grace. Imagine, a deputy governor, governor, vice president, acting president, and then president. No loud hustling, no scandal, just divine favor. Someone just picked him and made sure he smiled and still smiles.
Pst Jerry Eze, I heard he did midnight prayers for 11 years. Imagine a young fine man with a beautiful young wife doing midnight prayers for years and boom covid came, everyone was at home and God created an opportunity to announce him. I am sure his generation will never be poor again.
Folorunsho Alakija who amassed her wealth primarily through one connection and boom she entered the oil and gas industry.
Then it hit me: this assumption of rituals, yahoo and ahewo is why many wealthy people host private events, only inviting those within their circle. It is why majority of men and women change location and friends the moment their blessings start manifesting. Because deep down, they know how society and even their former friends will label them.
We all want to be rich, yet we are the first to accuse every rich man of rituals and every rich woman of prostitution. Yes, I know there are people who cut corners, who do ahewo, yahoo or rituals. Ndi small boy/girl big god, ndi education is a scam, baby girl for life and boom they are flaunting houses, cars, first class trips etc but not everyone. There are still people making clean, honest money in this country.
Eze-ndi-eze pick my call. Place on my path that one person .. man or woman who will hold my hands and never let go till I succeed, it's evident that people don't see beyond what they feel, Baba God, I won’t mind what they call me, only me and you will know how it happened🙏

The incessant killings in some parts of the north is of great concern. My relatives in Plateau state relocated back home few weeks ago and still trying to find their feet.
ReplyDeleteI really feel sad for the killings and pray that a solution is found. Imagine slaughtering humans like goats, shooting at them and leaving villages looking like a war zone after burning all the houses. The description from my relatives was so scary.
Plateau today, Benue tomorrow, Borno next tomorrow, Adamawa next week, etc. Sad sigh!
The latest Plateau state killings just hit the news this morning, over 50 killed in cold blood. I feel for the people in that area
