Lagos people, kpele ooo. Woke up 3am and saw updates from my friends stuck in traffic (something to do with a bridge that was closed). They said it's the worst traffic in years! Chai. Sad part is, there are several who spent all those hours in traffic, got home this morning, and still set out for work again today. Omoh! 😳🥺. Lagos is not for the weak wallahi. It's too fast, too rugged, too congested and too busy. And even though you have a high chance of having your dreams come true in Lag, the terrain is very difficult to navigate.

Lol, my ex husband was born and brought up in the North, sometimes back he was transferred to Lagos and he couldn't cope, he was always complaining but the salary back then was very huge, he had no choice but as soon as they needed someone for core North, he volunteered to go back despite the boko Haram crisis.

When it comes to giving, here are two important truths the Bible teaches us about money:
(1) God does not expect us all to give the same amount. 'Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the Lord your God which he has given you' (Deuteronomy 16:17 NKJV). Paul writes, 'For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have' (2 Corinthians 8:12 NIV).
(2) God will ask you to make sacrifices to fulfil his Kingdom purposes in the earth. In order to reverse the judgment of God that had come upon the people, King David was instructed to 'go up, erect an altar to the Lord on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite' (2 Samuel 24:18 NKJV). When Araunah saw David coming, he offered him the land free of charge. But David said: '"No, but I will surely buy it from you for a price; nor will I offer burnt offerings to the Lord my God with that which costs me nothing." So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver. And David built there an altar to the Lord, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the Lord heeded the prayers for the land, and the plague was withdrawn from Israel' (2 Samuel 24:24-25 NKJV).
God does not ask us to give equally, he asks us to sacrifice equally. And here is the good news: on the other side of every sacrifice God asks you to make for him, there awaits you his blessings and rewards.

Reflection
Waiting is one of the hardest things to do, yet it is in the waiting that God strengthens us. In seasons of delay, uncertainty, or endurance, we often feel weak or discouraged. A person in the state of “waiting” may appear to be “doing nothing” or “stagnant”, however, waiting on God is not passive — it is an active trust that He is working, even when we cannot see it. When an eagle soars, it seems to be “effortless” but the eagle has to wait for the right “wind” to catch before spreading out their wings, in the same manner, those who wait on the Lord receive divine strength beyond their limitations. When you feel weary, remind yourself that God’s timing is perfect, look out for the “wind” of the spirit and receive His strength which is made available for you.
Action Steps:
• Trust God's Timing: Let go of anxiety and embrace His plan. Wait on God when unsure what step to take.
• Stay Spiritually Active: Use waiting seasons to pray, study, and grow. Sharpen your spiritual antenna.
• Expect Renewal: Believe that your strength will be restored.
Think About This:
Are you waiting patiently on God at this time? Or would you rather rush ahead in your own strength?
Prayer Points:
• Thank God for His sustaining grace so far.
• Ask God for patience and faith to trust His timing.
• Pray for renewed strength in seasons of waiting.
• Declare that His purpose for your life will come to pass in due time. Pray with Isa. 14:24

Yesterday was one of those days when the sky had opened up, and the heavy rain fell relentlessly, saturating the earth and transforming the once-firm soil into a slippery quagmire. Our tractor, a reliable workhorse on the farm, was out in the field, attempting to finish the last of the plowing when disaster struck. The ground under its massive tires gave way, and before we knew it, the tractor was firmly entrenched in a muddy ditch.
ReplyDeleteFrantically, we assessed the situation. The tractor was stuck deep, its weight pushing against the slick mud. We knew we had to act quickly before the rain claimed more ground and worsened our predicament. Our first step was to arrange for another tractor to come and pull it out. We reached out to the farm office explaining our condition.
As we were making these arrangements, my mind wandered to the various operators and team members we had worked with over the years. One name stood out, and it was one of the operators we least expected to help—Tom. He was a quiet guy, often overlooked amidst our more experienced team members, and he had a knack for improvisation and hands-on problem-solving that the others sometimes missed.
Just as we were about to finalize the call for a larger tractor, Tom showed up, seemingly unfazed by the deluge. “I think I can get it out,” he said with a calm confidence that took me by surprise. We had planned to wait for the larger equipment, but something about his conviction made me reconsider.
With a few simple tools—a sturdy chain and some hefty wooden planks to create traction—Tom approached the tractor. As we watched, skepticism giving way to curiosity, he began to assess the situation. He worked quietly but quickly, directing the team with clear instructions while keeping his eyes on both the tractor and the surrounding ground.
In what felt like no time at all, Tom had us ready. He asked everyone to keep an eye on the tires. Suddenly, we felt the tractor shift, and in a slow yet powerful move, it began to emerge from its muddy prison. Cheers erupted as it finally broke free, and we could hardly believe it—a small tractor, operated by the unassuming Tom, had accomplished what we thought required heavy machinery.
Yesterday, not only did we rescue our stuck tractor, but i also learned an invaluable lesson: never underestimate anyone based on appearances or prior assumptions. Sometimes, the most unexpected resources can rise to the occasion when the going gets tough. Tom’s resource

ReplyDeleteIt's a cool morning. That rain was much needed yesterday. I made sure to sleep early, I didn't watch TV after dinner, I wanted to enjoy the cold weather well and I sure enjoyed my sleep. Headache and blurry eyes, gone!
