Singer Peter Okoye Says Fans Are Responsible For P-Square Break Up

Singer Peter Okoye aka Mr P has hit hard on fans, blaming them for the separation of the popular P-Square band which was made up of himself and his twin brother, Paul Okoye.

During an appearance on the AY Live show, he noted that the consistent comparisons broke the music duo.

In his words;

"Una be the reason why P-Square no dey together till today, two brothers are doing their own thing, una say one better pass one, e come enter one head, he begin misbehave, I must prove myself tonight, if una like, make una dey go house(starts performing)

It brought competition between them, that's what happened to P-Square, be careful guys, otherwise you would loose it, na me get music certificate, I read music, we dey rhyme, I know people wey rhyme
Shebi I don sing, shebi I don dance, shebi I don play piano, I don play guitar, my people, is it easy?".

  5. I’m not a fan of secular music but from what I’ve read so far, he’s right to an extent. Comparison is always the thief of joy. People were always mocking Peter that all he could do was dance, Paul is the singer.
    This generated into sibling rivalry between them.

  9. Why did you guys allow fans to break up what you started a very long time ago that means both you are still to blame

  10. Same thing they did to Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, some actors/actresses & even ex BBN housemates. Na fans work be that.

  11. I believe him to an extent, but they shouldn't have allowed fans to break them up, Yoruba will say "if wall isn't broken, no lizard can enter"

  12. If you will tell yourself the truth Peter, your insecurities was one of the main factor that caused the group break up. We all have what we are good at individually. Siblings are known with different talents, still they all support each other. Instead of you to take the advantage of your good dancing skills and grow with it, you decided to try singing, may be out of jealousy to prove that you can sing too. How far did you go with that your songs. Na you cause the breakup pass.

    1. He decided to try singing because his brothers were always rubbing it in his face.Every member of that group was valuable and important even Jude. No1 was more important than the other. Ego, stupidity and self centeredness coupled with lack of respect broke the group.
