ReplyDeleteThat part took me out, but just when I was about to recover, I got to the "wisdom is profitable to direct" part. Wow! Just wow!
The cases she made for her arguments could also be brought forth to encourage polyandry as well; after all, the whole purpose is so that the loads get shared. So when a man isn't feeling up to his conjugal responsibility, another man can step in on his behalf, right? And when the household bills feel stifling and the man cannot keep up to assist and to relieve him of financial burden, another man should be introduced into the mix, right?
Marriage in its truest form is not for selfish people, but what can be done when even the selfish ones want a slice of the pie?
It's not that hard, dear lady.
When your wife or husband is not feeling up to their conjugal responsibility, that is a call to patience and empathy.
Overwhelmed by domestic duties? Then you should learn how to improvise. Seek innovative solutions to support each other and alleviate the stressor.
When your spouse is indisposed, then learn the act of compromise.
Marriage is beautiful and meant to be enjoyed, yet it also serves as a pathway for self-development. Those occasional bumps and curves are designed to refine you into not just a better partner but also a better individual. They are there to help you grow, become more sacrificial, and less self-serving.
It helps you become Christ-like each day by dying to self; after all, marriage is a divine institution.

Then, not all women fight side chicks in their monogamous marriage, my own mum did not fight any side chick, my dad was a godly man.

ReplyDeleteThere's a reason polygamy has thrived all these years, it has a lot of ADVANTAGES. That the current generation is on a condemnation fad doesn't change that fact. The are lots of peaceful polygamous homes that people choose to ignore.
Annoyingly, a lot of practises today are borderline polygamous. Whom are we deceiving??
Address a post on it's merits and demerits not on emotions.
I am not necessarily a fan of polygamy but I won't condemn a cultural practise just based on my emotions.
There's also the argument that the Bible didn't explicitly condemn polygamy
