Nigerian Man Killed By Kidnappers After He Helped Their Victims Escape.....

OH MY GOD!!!
What this man did is a heroic act but how he ended up is sad....Please read the story..

*Edo’s Fallen Hero: Time for the State to Stand with Ehigie’s Family*
*By: Rita Ebiuwa*

Easter Sunday turned into a day of both immense courage and deep sorrow in Edo State, as Mr. Ehigie, a devoted woodworker and hunter from Udo-Eguare, made the ultimate sacrifice while attempting to rescue victims from the hands of armed kidnappers.

While working in the forest, Ehigie unexpectedly encountered a group of armed men holding several innocent citizens hostage. Acting with rare bravery, he fired a warning shot that startled the kidnappers and provided a window of escape for the captives. With remarkable courage and quick thinking, he guided eight people through a known path to safety, ensuring their freedom.

Sadly, his heroic act came at a great personal cost. The kidnappers, enraged by the escape, regrouped and launched a vicious attack. When their gunfire failed, they resorted to brutal force, overpowering and killing Ehigie in cold blood.

In a further act of terror, the criminals later blocked the Ugbenin/Udo Road in a failed attempt to abduct more travelers, injuring two persons who are now receiving medical care. Thankfully, the hostages Ehigie rescued have been reunited with their loved ones.

Ehigie died a hero, selflessly putting the lives of others before his own. He leaves behind a grieving wife and three young children who now face life without their husband and father.

We urgently call on the Edo State Government to honor this gallant son of the soil. Proper and prompt compensation should be given to his widow and children. His sacrifice must not go unnoticed. He gave his life so that others may live. Let his family not suffer in silence.

  19. Bravery and heroism are admirable, but in a place where insecurity is widespread, survival instinct becomes not just important, but essential. Sometimes the most courageous act is knowing when to step back, stay safe, and live to fight another day.
Nigeria’s situation right now, whether it’s banditry, insurgency, kidnapping, or general unrest calls for wisdom. Even the bravest lion knows when to retreat into the shadows. It's not about fear, it's about being strategic. Staying alive is the first win. Everything else comes after.

May the Lord give his family the fortitude to bear.

    3. @Anon 9:54 and 10:12. Sincerely, I appreciate his bravery, but the worst that would have happened is ransom in exchange for the kidnapped victims, except if the captors were bloodthirsty ritualists.
The government should identify and compensate his family.

      Read the story again.
You assume he did not make his calculations.
And certainly, you have not heard of cases where ransom did not secure release of hostages at all - life or body only.

It is so sad Nigeria happened to him.
A country filled with wicked and heartless leaders that are not making genuine efforts to curb these ill happenings.
People are being kidnapped and some are unfortunate they don't even come out alive.
Nigeria has shortened the life span of most people causing heartbreaks to many families.
    May God have mercy

  39. This government don’t want to do the needful, any kidnapper caught should be executed immediately. They should not be left to live for another day. Some have turned it to business, torturing souls. People have gone through a lot in the hands of these wicked souls. Just look at what they did to this guy, his family will be left mourning now. May his soul rest in peace.

  41. I am so surprised that Edo indigenes home and abroad permitted this evil for so long since inception. If anyone told me that very powerful Edoites (including their witches and human serpents) who enjoy oppressing, egoistic tendencies and carrying other people's business on their head can allow these kidnappers desecrate their land, I will not believe it at all. I though Edo people are so powerful, strong and undefeatable with the way they loudly curse, pick unnecessary quarrels, gossip, distort and manipulate realty would have put a PERMANENT STOP to this bloodshed in their land by now. I am soooo disappointed to say the least. This world and Nigeria in particular, so much evil is happening around us but rather than focus and tackle even one small problems in our families, communities and nation at large, people prefer to invest their energy into minding other people's lives, mocking their realities, flying in and out just to 'slap'who them no fit, manipulating and instigating unnecessary discord to suit their narratives when they can use that same energy and resources having been 'blessed and better than others' to right somethings. Government cannot do everything and cannot be everywhere at the same time. If only each one of us can go back to when we GENUINELY LOOKED OUT FOR EACH OTHER AND OUR COMMUNITIES, I am not sure that these wicked elements would thrive with new strategies daily and remain among us for so long. Make Edo women stand up oooh, make Edo youths stand up, make Nigerians stand up and reclaim our nation back because no where is safe any more, not even Lagos, sleepy Ibadan, or quiet eastern states. No one will rescues us from the invaders of our peace unless we arise as individuals and as a people to take decisive action.
