One story from the Bible that keeps speaking to me is the story of Elisha and the poor widow.
ReplyDeleteShe had lost almost everything. Her husband was dead. Her debts were piling up. Creditors were coming to take her two sons as slaves.
All she had left was a small jar of oil, just a little quantity
But when she cried out for help, Elisha didn’t give her money.
He didn’t even pity her.
Instead, he asked her, "What do you have in your house?"
When she said, "Only a jar of oil," he gave her a strange instructiontoborrow empty jars from everywhere, and start pouring oil into them.
In today’s world, this story is more alive than ever.
The "oil" is anything you have left that carries potential — a gift, a talent, a dream, a small opportunity, an idea, a skill you can grow.
The "empty jars" are the spaces, the open doors, the platforms, the partnerships you can seek out and prepare for.
Elisha is that voice in your life — a mentor, a teacher, a friend, or even God's whisper — that challenges you to look again at what you have and act in faith.
In difficult seasons, it's easy to focus on what we lost.
But the real question is: what is still in your house?
What small thing have you overlooked because it seemed too small to matter?
That small thing could be a family business or skill you have overlooked.
The widow’s miracle came, not because she had plenty, but because she believed enough to start pouring.
The oil kept flowing only as long as there were jars.

God told Ezekiel to declare his word to a valley full of bones, and the bones became a mighty army. These bones were dead, dry and in disarray. That may describe where you are today. Your hopes are dead, your soul is dry, your life in disarray. What's the answer?
(1) You need God to shake things up in your life. 'I heard a rattling noise. The bones were coming together' (Ezekiel 37:7 CEV)! If it feels like things are being shaken up in your personal life, home or work life, rejoice; it means God has great plans for you.
(2) You need God to speak to you through his word. 'Dry bones, listen to what the Lord is saying' (Ezekiel 37:44). God's word turned this bunch of bones into a mighty army that could conquer and fulfil his purposes. And God's word will do the same for you. Jesus said, 'You will know the truth, and the truth will set you free' (John 8:32 CEV). So, get into God's word, and get God's word into you.
(3) You need God to breathe his Holy Spirit on you. 'O breath, [of God]...breathe on these...that they may live...and they...stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army' (Ezekiel 37:9-10 NKJV). When you're empowered by his Spirit, you will exceed your own expectations and do great things for God.
Ezekiel couldn't see the potential in those bones until God showed it to him. So, no matter what others say, God sees potential in you and that's why he is shaking you up.

If you have dark armpits or under thighs, start applying your body cream in those areas, even if it's shea butter that you use as cream, just apply it there while creaming your body. I used to have dark armpits, tried all sorts including lemon and the rest until someone told me the above. Now after two months, it is the same colour as the surrounding skin. This gives me joy walahi, I can now rock my sleeveless tops and gowns and raise up my arms comfortablyπ π
I knew this since. Add neck to the list, if your neck is darker than other parts of your body, start using your body cream on it. This is for those who don't apply cream on their neck.

ReplyDeleteIn this age and time, I can't believe that some mothers still drop their kids off in wrappers tied around their waste paired with one worn-out top, without bra.
You should always have one gown or any other clothing set aside every night so you can always quickly wear it in the morning when you want to drop them at school, if you are not going straight to your own workplace from their school.
For the no bra part, I can't step outside my gate in the daytime without bra, even though I have perky boobs. Who do I want to be showcasing my n#pples for out there?
No matter how I'm rushing, I must wear a bra before leaving the house. How many minutes will it take me to wear a bra?
DeleteAs for wrapper, not a fan. I only have one wrapper that is not lace or any other big one that I wear to parties.
I just got one Ankara wrapper recently which I don't even remember most times.
I saw one on my street yesterday, she was wearing a singlet without bra, walking her toddler. People were just staring at her cos her bobbies were big and long, almost reached her navel. Shame was catching me on her behalf.
