My relative met a guy online some years back, and they were talking and before you know it, he started preaching marriage, he sent his family to my village and an indoor marriage was conducted...
His brother replaced him....
It's been over five years, this guy no show face, we even started suggesting to my cousin to look elsewhere and see if they should return his dowry and set her free, she refused (She said she can't leave her fine boy) Age no too dey her side again too, she's in her early forty's.
Late last year she told us that her husband is coming home soon, na so we de happy, she rented a bigger apartment, bought properties, furnished the house so well cos she has a good paying job, he came back around December, we went to say hello..
Oga came back with nothing, not even bread, he looked like someone at mushin Lagos, the thing come shock me but I no wan talk wetin my eyes observe, the man barely gave us attention, was always on his phone either making calls or smiling to a chat, few days later, the lady's mom came to my house and was complaining that her daughter no longer takes care of her or buys her drugs cos she's building at her husband's village...
I called my cousin, she told me to please mind my business that marriage is for two people who understands each other and are willing to partner, that she needs to build something befitting of her husband's abroadian status, that people must not know that he came back with nothing (it kinda confirmed my suspicion), I didn't even know that the seven bedroom duplex had been completed and she was trying to furnish it, in the man's village oo...
She went as far as taking a loan from her workplace to fund all this, this man wakes up in the morning, dress up, collects pocket money from her and off he goes to God knows where, my cousin was kpaiing in silence..
I was minding my business as instructed last month when she called me (e shock me to see her call), I didn't pick the first time cos I felt it could be a mistake, I reluctantly picked the second time, she was crying, I asked her what happened,
She said she had not seen her husband in weeks...
His mom too was not picking her calls so she decided to come home and report to her mother in-law, only to see her husband and another woman in the same house she built cozying in their supposed bedroom, the husband asked her what she came to do in the village, the lady in question was introduced as his wife while my cousin was introduced as a friend, mind you that when they married her, the guy's mom didn't come cos according to the guy, he said his mom was sick and couldn't walk then..
My cousin got angry and slapped him, he beat shege out of her, that same his mom who calls my cousin sweet names (Ugosinamba, Obuteaku) joined her son to beat her, told her that no one likes associating with a debtor, that she should go and pay the people she's owing, they threw her out according to her, they started requesting for their bride price claiming that my sister beat up his mom, it was returned and all parties moved on, my sister was always in a sorrowful mood, she took a few days leave..
I told her to come over to my place, when I saw my cousin, I broke down in tears, she was a shadow of herself, she spent the few days with me, while in my house I noticed she avoids a certain call, I asked who the person is, she said it's a brother to one of her senior colleagues at work, I begged her to pick the next time he calls..
She did and they've been talking, she called me over the weekend to tell me that the guy sent money to her office through his sister to clear off all her debts (the plenty millions of naira), now he's talking about marriage, he is a widower and very comfortable, his kids are grown, my cousin said she's scared his kids might not like her, I told her she has nothing to be scared of and she should also not agree immediately, take your time to get to know him well and see if he's everything you think he is...
I spoke to her on video call yesterday and she was looking all glammy and sweet, true love can make you look younger and succulent, indeed na money and peace of mind be cuteness...
As for the other guy, he claimed he was the one sending money to her to build for him even with all the receipts she presented, Oga still de open eye de speak big big grammar, no be every soil them de plant inside, some grounds are rocky and may never grow seed...
What nonsense!

DeleteThis no real labour in vain.
What is she doing about the house she built? Your family has to help her to collect her property, a good lawyer should be employed for this.
ReplyDeleteThat man will meet his Karma

ReplyDeleteThey will never learn. Building on someone else’s family land is one dangerous and foolish decision.
ReplyDeleteNo need claiming any of those properties, leave everything in God's hand. Karma is real. Thank God she has been compensated with a loving man.
