How una dey and how is the day going for you? I saw all the entries for the giveaway and i will pick those that God directs me to pick......I decided long ago not to look at faces to choose who i wanna choose.....If you wanted the giveaway money and did not indicate...try next time.....

  INSIDE THE MIND OF A WOMAN GOING THROUGH MOTHERHOOD 

I love piercings, tattoos, and all. When I see beautiful tattoos and lovely face and ear piercings, I melt inside. I am like a child in a candy store when I meet people who share the same interests.

 

I don’t have multiple piercings and tattoos not because I don’t want one but because my pain threshold is very low and in my experience with minor cuts and surgeries I don’t heal as fast as I think I should so I am trying not to push my boundaries.

I wear magnetic earrings and clip on, I used  to always have my back and arms covered in henna, pretty designs, i must say. I am currently looking for a great temporary tattoo artist.

 As far back as I can remember from childhood, I have always wanted a large eagle drawn all over my back with the names of my children and spouse in its wings.

My love for tattoos started as a young child, my earliest memories of this is staring at my grand ma’s back and arms, she had her name, date of birth and some animals drawn on her. 

She told me that it was a way of beautifying oneself back in the olden days. She would tell me stories of how she was so beautiful and how she always wore the most expensive waist beads and anklets and also how this made her garner a lot of suitors.

As a young child growing up in a religious home where all this body modifications were seen as a sin against God, I struggled with loving and being passionate about it and not displeasing God because all this things were taught to be worldly western influence .

One faithful day I was in my second year in senior secondary school and my Yoruba teacher Mrs Adeogun wrote the topic “OGE SISE NI ILE YORUBA” (beautification practices in Yoruba land) on the black board. With pictures, she taught about how in the Yoruba culture, wearing multiple waist beads was a standard of beauty and show of affluence, how drawings were made on the skin to beautify it.

Artificial gap teeth making was a common practice in ancient Yoruba kingdom because it was a sign of good teeth, making different hairstyles with beads and other ornaments were not left out so many other practices. This really helped to broaden my mind and realise that long before Western influence, we had all these practices, and my love grew. It also settled the “sin of western influence” issue.

I really hope my kids inherit my love for piercings and tattoos, I look forward to sharing such moments with them.

Hmmm, you should see old folks with tattoo and how dirty and tired their skin looks.....Tattoo is horrible and turns out ugly and inappropriate in old age...love your skin unpainted please..I used to want tats until i saw them and just resorted to admiring them.....I want a butterfly tattoo but i dont wanna go thru that pain for something so small.....Hmmm, maybe its me shaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
