“The wave of defections or the gale of defections of the political elites who are repositioning themselves either for survival, protection, or evasion of prosecution cannot be taken seriously by students of Nigerian politics,” Dalung said.
According to the former Sports Minister, it is the electorate who should determine whether an elected office holder is permitted to defect.

Nigeria with Comic politicians. The fear of EFCC is the beginning of Wisdom
ReplyDeleteIfeanyi Okowa own shocked me seeing the huge trillions he's being prosecuted for by EFCC but then I remember Senator Akpabio was also once in that position and when he defected, EFCC dropped this case.
ReplyDeleteEFCC is the worse institution parading itself in Nigeria.

ReplyDeleteWhat were people running out of PDP to ACN or CPC for? Why didn't the 5 or so governors who walked away from the ruling PDP to form APC stay for fear of corruption cases which some had at the time?
ReplyDeleteYou have a party that doesn't know it's secretary and another that doesn't know it's chairman and you want a politician spending his own time and money to leave his own eyes open as the Zamfara and Rivers flip-overs loads. You want people who gave an opposition party the state with a humungous population to sit till they and their crowd magnet are expelled from the same mushroom party they gave relevance. Day play.
Nigeria deserves an opposition that isn't lazy, despondent and unserious. It is not the job of the ruling party to build yours for you but to expand theirs. They didn't seem your help while growing You can learn how they built theirs to win the incumbent by just 4% and have kept the lead, healing the cracks and chasms in their own party.
It will behoove younger Nigerians who think their lack of experience will make them better than Babangida, Abacha, Gowon and Yahaya Bello to understand Nigeria and it's political landscape so that they can advance improvements in their own spheres and create something better instead of flailing in the wind as internally and externally displaced politicians rug at their labile heart strings.
The PDP are making moves to to relieve them of their positions for defecting but the response I heard shock me, they said they 'move' not defect. Since defection is in Nigeria constitution not move, so when they get to the court, their lawyer will proof to the judge beyond reasonable doubt.l didn't study law, so I don't know if it will be possible for them.
