Farouk Aliyu, former President Muhammadu Buhari’s close ally, has insisted that former Kaduna State governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai would have been out insulting northern political leaders and other politicians if President Bola Tinubu had appointed him as a minister.

Aliyu stated this while speaking on Arise Television’s ‘The Morning Show’ on Friday.

He also suggested that El-Rufai is dishonest and his loyalty is only tied to what he gains from politics

Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia has warned communities in the state facing attacks from suspected Fulani herdsmen against resorting to self-help. Alia gave this warning while addressing journalists after the Good Friday Mass at Holy Ghost Parish in Makurdi, the state capital.

 A group of Nigerian legislative lawyers, under the aegis of the Association of Legislative Drafting and Advocacy Practitioners, ALDRAP, has given President Bola Tinubu seven days to disclose provisions of the state of emergency proclamation in Rivers State which empowered the Sole Administrator, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas (rtd), to appoint sole administrators for local government areas. ALDRAP made the demand in a letter dated 17th April 2025, signed by its Secretary, Dr. Tonye Clinton Jaja.

 The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike has given suspended Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State condition for peace. Addressing a media parley in Abuja on Friday, Wike said he is open to forgiveness if Fubara apologizes over the political crisis in the state.
