I think women should get more than 3months. They need time not just to look after their newborn, but also look after themselves. Fathers should be allowed leave as well. They can help in taking care of the home, while the woman gets some rest.

3 months Maternity Leave is good but we can do more, like 6 months obtainable in the UK....Paternity Leave is fantastic, we do 1 week in my company however it should be at least 1 month so they can bond with their child...

Most people who would be glad for paid extended leave.
But ask them if they would gladly pay for it as employers.
Of course, fathers deserve time off too.
Some companies give officially and unofficially.
Should it be longer?
Each circumstance and pay negotiation should determine.
Lagos state gives 6months maternity and two weeks paternity leave to their staff....I think this is fair enough, although most private companies gives three months maternity while one man business na six weeks.

I just believe all mothers should have a work from home job inorder to stay with their kids. 3 months is way too short
