  3. But why will people blame the wife for the action of a 50 year old man? He's not a baby and should be blamed for his actions

Evil shooters should now rest on calling his wife what she's not.

  5. I never wanted to say a thing in all of this but then I will say how I feel about it. Obi Cubana didn't handle this properly. There are better ways he would have done this. Let alone for me, he shouldn't have reacted immediately on it but give it a little time.

  7. Nigerians are so misogynistic! So a 50year old man cannot think and act by himself? A man who runs an entertainment conglomerate? His bad actions are to be attributed to his wife while his good actions and achievements are all his doing? Na wa

  8. But wait normally is the adopted son supposed to be the next of kin when there's nothing wrong with the biological son?. I'm open to learning

  9. Very spot on.

It’s interesting to observe how social media these days has become such an integral part of one's inner life. It often seems to know false context about us than the truth we hold ourselves accountable to, which often creates non-existent narratives that condemn and criticise actions or inactions we never undertook.

This highlights the need for a more balanced perspective in today’s world, where understanding and self-awareness should be prioritized above offhanded, off-the-mill judgments from myopic strangers and online inlaws alike, with their flawed opinions often pronounced as verdicts from a story the victim never shared with them.

The adopted son was way out of line. He exposed himself and his ambitions.
Thank God Obi saw through it and set the records straight. Whether he was to hasty or not is not the issue.
Should anything happen, it is on record that he set everything straight.

A man's enemies are within his household.

    1. I can list 10 families in Anambra State still dragging on 20 years after their Daddy passed on.
"You are not one of us, Papa only took you in to assist in your education".
The man says "well, he gave me his son and made me his son, I was always in this office with him, I was handling all bank transactions".
And on and on the reasons spring up and court cases go on

    2. If small pikin do like small pikin adult suppose do like adult. I lost a lot of respect for Obi cubana after this debacle. He should’ve simply told the kid to delete the post and that would’ve been the end of it. What he did was childish and sure looked like he was compelled to do it. Adopting a child means you’re giving him every right your biological child has, only in Nigeria sha na him when time reach to share property them go talk say this one na adopted and this one na biological child plus doesn’t he have a will ?he messed up big time

    3. Obi Cubana fall my hand well well. I was very disappointed with his write up. He should have known it was just little kids catching cruise. I doubt if things will be the same with the young man in that household going forward. I feel very bad for the young teen. Obi Cubana has just set the poor boy up for mockery.

  11. Why will anyone put the blame on her? So an adult did something, automatically they insinuating his wife influenced it. Na wa!

Obi didn't have to post anything. Make your will and put whoever you want there as your Next of Kin, let SM people keep thinking whatever they like. It's not hard na.

  14. Not surprised the wife was dragged into this, is it not the same way they always accuse the wife of killing the husband when he dies?

  18. I’m glad the man came out immediately to set the records straight. Even if the wife put him up to it, it’s perfectly in her place to do that! The way people suddenly die these days…Obi did well. The wife did well too. What widows pass through in Anambra should give everyone sense. Especially when big money is involved. Well done Obi.

  20. I’m seeing a lot of you ignorant people say he did the right thing and I’m just shocked cos it means you don’t know what it means to say you adopted a child.

    1. He is his child but that child has no right to claim next of kin when the father has not given him the privilege and the father is still alife. Why is he so desperate about being next of kin when the other children aren't even thinking in that direction? They are various reasons people adopt kids, some adopt just to assist the kid, some adopt because they are unable to bear a child that would take after them when they pass on, some adopt because they love that particular child, some adopt because... add your own.

When it's time, to share the will, the foster parents will share his property to his biological kids and carve out some portion for the adopted one, depending on the reason they adopted the child.

    2. He most likely did not adopt the child. Rather he is fostering the child as is common amongst Igbo people. Adopting a child in Nigeria (or even America) is not beans and I doubt a man of his standing will go adopt a ‘’boy who is older than his children’ when he has four sons. That is just asking for trouble.

This is not to say that his response to the boy was the wisest

    3. 20:42. You mirrored my thoughts. The fact that he lives with them and always in pictures and does everything with his biological children doesn't mean he is officially adopted.

  24. Next of kin is just an emergency contact who provides a framework for communication and sharing of information especially in emergency situations.

He doesn’t even have a power of attorney and Nigerians are already arguing as if Obi has willed all his properties to this adopted son.

By the way, an adopted son is your son and must enjoy the same privileges as your biological children . In England the adoption act 1976 gave every adopted child right of inheritance of their parents estate and also right to contest the will, if they are excluded.

I don’t know much about Nigeria law but if you are adopting a child, there should not be any restrictions on being their parents. You are their parents, period!

  25. This Obi Cubana story will be tragedy in the end. Where are the Ezego and Ifeanyi Uba money? Too much noise over how much sef? Is Obi worth anything close to $10m? Never. But he makes noise like he is a dollar billionaire. Empty vessels
