Autopsy Result Reveals Late Boxer Olanrewaju Segun Died Of Sudden Cradiac Arrest
The autopsy results for the late Nigerian boxer Olanrewaju Segun has revealed that he passed away due to sudden cardiac arrest. Investigations into his heart condition is ongoing, and his body is expected to be held for two weeks before being released for burial in Nigeria.

I thought autopsy takes months to years to conclude as is mostly the case in Nigeria.

ReplyDeleteA cardiac arrest means the heart stopped. Usually the cause of death is the underlying process that leads to the cardiac arrest. The more common things we see that lead to arrests would be: MI, clot in the lung, toxins, hypoxia, hypovolemia, electrolyte issues.
Did he have any structural heart issues that could’ve led to an abnormal heart rhythm? And with the sport involved, we don’t know if he had any injuries or sustained any during the match.
The point is, they still need to ascertain the cause of death. Hopefully they do, so that his loved ones can have some closure.

ReplyDeleteThere is the legend in Boxing o an arrest that led to good Denisef the Heart stopping punch and yes, it's actually a real thing with scientific proof and it all depends on the exact location of the punch and it's intensity. If as stated above, he had an underlying condition, a critical got could trigger an arrest that led to his demise.
