APC National Chairman Ganduje Says More Govs Are Set To Join APC

The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, has revealed that more opposition governors will soon join the party.
Ganduje disclosed this on Thursday in Abuja when he formally received some leaders of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, in Kano State, led by Senator Kawu Ismailia, who represents Kano South.

He stated: “The governor of Delta State is now in APC, including his cabinet, including all the members of the state assembly and House of Representatives, and the timber and calibre of PDP, now in APC, even including the former vice presidential candidate coming into our party.
“So you can see that we are expanding. I don’t want to reveal our secret, but what I’m telling you is that APC 2027 is a done deal.

“More governors are coming into APC. I assure you, and in places where we have elections, APC, insha Allah, will win those elections.”

The NNPP chieftains that defected include former Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Mohd Digol; a former Commissioner in Kano State, Hon. Abbas Abbas; a former Commissioner in Kano State, Hon. Sha’aban Ibrahim Lawal; a former governorship candidate, Hon. Badamasi Ayuba Danbatta; a former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Idris Dankuwa; and a former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Kabiru Rurmum, representing Rano/Kibiya in the House of Representatives.

Others are Hon. Abdullahi Rogo; Hon. Zubairu Massu, a member of Kano State House of Assembly; and Dr Baffa Bichi.

On Wednesday, the governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, and the 2023 running mate to Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, joined the ruling party, along with National Assembly and state assembly members from the state, as well as local government chairmen from the state.

  5. The job of a party Chairman is to expand the party, just like a CEO. Ganduje is therefore delivering on his KPI.
People complaining should ask themselves why other parties are composed of people without spine.
When Tinubu was governor, he was harassed by both OBJ and GEJ using EFCC and the code of conduct tribunal, but he refused to budge, why can't these current set of politicians have such resilience?

    1. Fantastic comment.

Parties without proper internal mechanisms and loyalty reward system cannot be pushing people off their ship and expect those same people not to swim across to a neighboring ship functioning better. A party that doesn't know its secretary or chairman cannot supervise tens of thousands of polling units nationwide. It cannot canvas for votes and this is not 2023 when the G5 and parts of APC were working for another candidate while CPC felt they had anointed their cousin.

If you cannot focus on building, strengthening and expanding your structure, expect shrinkage.

This same Tinubu collaborated with others to build a tent so attractive it led people to quit GEJ's PDP while the party was the largest in Africa and was well funded by the centre with over 26 governors.

Run a fair system. Dint pretend to be a saint when you want to discard your colleagues, Obey your party's rules and find space for those inside to be welcome unless, you will spend your days going from Channels to Arise to blame TVC with nothing to show for it on election day.
