Actor Femi Branch Reveals That Juju And Almost Killing Him Forced Him To Quit Thr Yoruba Movie Industry

This is so shocking to read!!!

Nollywood actor, Femi Branch in an interview talked about why he left the Yoruba film industry. He said the industry is diabolical and many of them use spiritual means to advance their careers there.

He said that It was shocking to him because he came from English language film making. Because of the lead roles he was getting, different attempts were made on his life and he nearly lost his two legs. Obeying the voice of his prophet he had to leave the Yoruba movie industry. He chose his life over his career. He wondered why he was being attacked, not that he owns a house in banana island or even drove a Bentley. He got report that some influential figures were envious of him and viewed him as a competition

“During the production of my first Yoruba movie, an accident occurred. The shoot took place in Ikorodu and most scenes were filmed at night. The shoot is during the night, we rest in the day. On the second night, I was preparing for a stunt sequence. As a martial artist, I had rehearsed thoroughly. However, during the execution my leg got injured.

Upon reviewing the footage, it appeared as though a plank struck my leg. I was wearing army boots and when I landed, my leg swelled inside the boot. The swelling was so severe that we had to cut the boot off with a blade. My leg swelled up in a matter of seconds and I was rushed to the general hospital in Ikorodu. Unfortunately they were on strike that midnight they refused to admit us. I was taken to another hospital.

On the first day my condition seemed manageable but by the second day, the swelling had worsened significantly. The doctor assured me not to worry and mentioned something about taking an X-ray. For two years, I couldn’t walk or work and I didn’t reach out to anybody in the industry for help instead I sold properties including cars belonging to both myself and my mother to survive.

When I was falling down, I felt restrained like it was a spiritual something. I never imagined I’d delve so deeply into such experiences. There were indeed terrestrial elements intertwined with spiritual warnings. Before starting the ill-fated project, a pastor from Abuja reached out to me. Though we met briefly once, he called me to deliver a cryptic message.

He said God warned him to warn me against announcing any upcoming projects too loudly. But what I was planning wasn’t in place then. When everything clicked at the time, I dismissed it thinking little of its relevance because film can’t be done alone. After recovering slightly, I purchased a new car and landed a role in an Africa magic movie featuring Femi Adebayo and Mercy Aigbe as ambassadors. The pay was good so I got a jeep.

I received another call from a friend in Akure whose pastor also conveyed a similar warning ‘that those after my life were not relenting that I should leave that work finally’. I didn’t share this with anyone. Many just noticed that I left the Yoruba industry. This is the reason.

That if I choose to remain in that industry, this is the starting point. He shared her number with me. The pastor also conveyed a similar warning but I didn’t take it to be serious. I got a call for another job, enroute to Lagos for the shoot, tragedy struck again.

A speeding paragon bus forced me off the road, causing my vehicle to flip multiple times before landing at a filling station. The pause between my car and the first pump is just small. Others weren’t fortunate, the woman driving the other car sustained severe head trauma. Afterward, I thanked God for sparing my life yet again. The car was off and the paragon escaped. Following the incident, I informed the production team that I couldn’t continue with the job. The same prophetess called me reminding me of past close calls where God had intervened to save me. She asked if I intended to disobey divine instructions now. Obedience is better than sacrifice. If a third incident were to occur, she didn’t see me surviving it. I choose to prioritize my life over my career. They tried to take both my legs but God preserved them. Is that not evidence enough?

I have never been one to envy someone, if someone gets a role, I believe it was their time to shine, to be elevated only later did I learn that some resort to spiritual means to elevate their status. Coming from an English language film background, I found this practice surprising. I was warned twice or thrice by two different actors. A colleague warned me that I am overly trusting. She hinted that a certain influential figure viewed me as competition and urged me to tread carefully.

It was funny, I said to myself, so, someone is antagonizing me? For what reason? Why would anyone do that? Do I own a house in banana island? Or drive a Bentley? We are all here struggling. I was getting plenty of lead roles. Was that a yardstick for envy? I didn’t care!

I had a meeting with someone and he said to me ‘whatever you are serving, don’t leave it whether you are a traditionalist, Christian or Muslim God loves you so much’

  7. This is evident in every profession and most times, the one behind the siege is already highly placed yet feels threatened by a younger colleague. They see every job/role as an opportunity to 'shine 'and cannot stand any 'riff raff' outshining them. Hence they go to any and every length. I faced and still face similar situation and this is usually so SUBTLE that if you don't put your eyes down and use your tongue to count your teeth, you will not know. The only saving me is that what I do is my calling, I am not interested in 'shining' but to serve so God is my backbone. They have tried many times both secretly and openly yet I always triumph. There is nothing imaginable and unimaginable that they have not done and also have manipulative justifications for their subtle and deeds. Since God opened my eyes to see the chief sponsor , supervisor and enemy, I have been matching them energy for energy with prayers with my heart and two hands clean. If I decide to document my experience, book go full. And them respect them well well for everywhere.
