Senator Ireti Kingibe has slammed her colleague Senator Natasha Akpoti over her outburst on the seating reassignment in the Senate and recent s#xual allegations she made against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
.
While speaking during a recent Interview on AriseTv, Kingibe who serves as the Senate Chairperson for Women Affairs stated that Natasha was not the only female lawmaker whose seat was moved and as regards the s#xual harassment, she wasn't in a position to address such claims.
In her words;
"The Senate is not a place where we are supposed to be fighting about seating arrangements, it's supposed to be a place we talk about issues that affect the people and that's why these whole thing is a no issue.
When I said the issue is not gender, we expected because it was only four of us that we would get privileges but we don't get them, we fought to get there and the fight continues until we can get more women in the Senate so if we don't get privileges, we don't get them but it does not mean that we don't get our right.
The three of us has not been sexually harassed, but that's not to say that if senator natasha can prove that if she has been, that is fine, we would support her but she never discussed it with us, I don't know about it, she did not respond to the rest of the female senators, she has not spoken to any of us throughout this whole episode from change of seat till now.
Senator Banigo was with her, trying to talk to her that it can be resolved, she did not listen to her so am coming to say that women of Nigeria have larger things in front of them, we are trying to pass special bills, 35% inclusion, we cannot be fighting over where we sit and it really denigrates the institution in a manner that is not beneficial to Nigeria, the people or women, that's all am here to say"

Mrs Natasha reached boiling 👉 point.
ReplyDeleteShe exploded.
Akpabio's name is always in sex matters. Why??!!!!
“The truth is, Senator Natasha has gotten the most privileges among all four of us (female senators). The seat I sit on now has been moved four times." If we don't get privileges, we don't get them – Ireti Kinigbe
ReplyDeleteDear Ireti,
Senator Natasha earned those privileges because she FOUGHT for them, while you act like a statue in the Senate and saying if you don’t get privileges, you are fine. I pity your constituents who listened to your interview.
That you don't fight for anything is why they had to move your seat four times, and in no time, they will throw you out of the window.
Natasha fought to earn her fame.
She fought to be elected.
She fought to reclaim her seat.
And she continues to fight for her people and for her voice to be heard.
You, on the other hand, did none of this. Instead:
You got your fame through your husband's "hard work."
You didn’t fight to be elected but hid under Ellupee and rode on Peter Obi’s efforts to secure a seat in the Senate.
You didn’t need to fight to reclaim any seat and would not understand what it means to be an underdog.
Wike and others came for you. It was social media that stood up for you before your husband stepped in.
When Akpabio silenced you, you couldn't fight back, but instead, you are quick to grant an interview, criticizing your female colleague.
May Ubeks
I was so disappointed with the interview.
ReplyDeleteDon't mind them @ 10:40 that's yoruba people's character! In the early 2011; that's I was fighting my boss with hr over my colleagues ; same yoruba colleagues that came to report him, denied everything in front of hr.The reason I do my personal projects in Nigeria and only work professionals abroad! They are traitors! Even the ones in my family; I have cut all of them off! You only find the good ones in yankee; with just a slight bit of the useless envy streak!!!
ReplyDeleteWomen supporting women indeed.
