Ezekiel 37:10
ReplyDeleteMission had been accomplished. The dry bones were an army – a dead army.
How did Ezekiel know they were an army? Here’s how.
The army would have horses, camels, sheep and cow. Every livestock that they required on their campaign would be available. These were part of the bones that were dry. These were the reasons there was so much rattling. A horse bone will not connect with a goat or a human being. Each bone had to find its counterpart. The bone of a tall person will not join with that of a shorter soldier even though they were lying next to each other.
Ezekiel was shocked to see these animals resurrected as well. He thought he was prophesying only to human beings. But this kind of result is inherent in the word of God. It does EXCEEDINGLY ABOVE what you think.
If it were to be only the animals, the shock wouldn’t be much. But then, an army would have a uniform, they will have shields, spears, helmets, sandals, swords… name it. Where did these come from? The army that killed this army had gone with everything. How then did they resurrect completely armed to the teeth for battle?
Wow! Who said it was game over? Ezekiel did not prophesy to iron rods, he didn’t ask for shields and weapons. He prophesied to skin, how did clothes enter the picture? God was just showing us how far heaven can go when we go into partnerships with the prevailing word of God.
There are things you cannot ask in prayer because you don’t even know them. You don’t know if they exist or not. Ezekiel did not know what the dry bones were, because he saw skulls he could imagine they were human beings, but there were horses there!!!
This is where the Word of God differs from our words. God says, as the heavens are far above the earth, so are his ways, thoughts, imaginations far, much farther above ours. When the Spirit of God broods over the words of God, it births the imaginations of God not those of the human speaker.
Apostle Paul explains it by saying, the Spirit makes intercession for us – prays for us – the way God wants. That is too powerful. No wonder the simple prophecy of Ezekiel had so much impact.
Today it is your turn to speak God’s word and see how it can magnify into dimensions you could never ever imagine!
