28-year-old Ogunbode Quadri Adedamola was declared missing on January 16, 2025.
According to his girlfriend, she called him the day he went missing — and he said was in front of the church, CCC ILERI OLUWA PARISH, LASU 2, and would call back later.
Police visited the church based on the GF narration and the Shepherd denied seeing him on the said day nor knowing about his whereabouts.
Police intensified the investigation, and got his bank statement. They discovered that #1.5m was transferred from the guy's account on the day he went missing.
A certain amount went into the Shepherd's bank account, his daughter’s own, among others.
The shepherd, Sup. Evang. Whepetoji Babaniyeh initially denied receiving the money but later claimed it was for Thanksgiving when police showed him evidence. This led to his detention for further investigation.
It has now been reported that the guy's body has been discovered where it was buried near the church premises.
He was buried under the shepherd's supervision. Gun and axe were also recovered from the shepherd.
Ogunbode graduated from the Pol Science Education Department of Lagos State University in 2024 and he is the CEO of Horlar Edu Consultancy — a private business operating at the LASU Campus.

Deception is the order of the day when you have churches springing out of control, up in every nook and cranny of society without vetting, like SMEs. Where many skilful supercilious animes clothed in robes mimicking 'a chosen few' preside over gullible sunken-fallen hearts, dead on life’s feet and desperate for hope. In ally with despondent minds, who have already lost their plots but are waiting with bated breath for some sort of righteous affirmations on sacrilegious podiums to soothe their oversized wrongs.

It’s shit like this why I am mostly a recluse. Imagine having people watching and preying on you and planning your demise, all without your knowledge. The worst part it is someone whom you trust and hold in high esteem who is the mastermind of it all. And if the pastor had just asked maybe the young man would have happily turned over the money. Killing a man in the prime of his life for 1 million. A life that was adding value to his nation, a productive citizen full of dreams and hopes just taken out for filthy lucre.
