And to think that we have a lot of people who are even richer and also enlightened than this white woman. But our priorities are different, we prefer to show off the latest material possession than help anyone. You wonder why we are very backward as a people.

As someone who had to learn forgiveness over many years, forgiveness is not for the other person’s benefit but for you. It is part of self care. Unforgiveness is like drinking sniper and expecting the object of your unforgiveness to die. There is a reason Jesus said to forgive many times per day in the Bible. Thank you.
DeleteEvery culture has to examine itself from time to time and erase beliefs and practices that are negative, violent and oppressive. It is frightening how so many cultures hold on the practices that are just plain wicked and evil. Culture cannot be greater than humanity. Thanks goodness we don't all think alike or have the same worldviews or children like Uduak would not have a chance at a good life.
