 Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have intercepted cocaine concealed in prayer beads and locally made shoes. According to the agency, the suspects were intercepted while attempting to smuggle the illicit substances into the Holy Land.

 The Nigerian military has reportedly struck bandits operating in parts Katsina State, neutralising 31 in two separate operations. It was gathered that the first operation conducted by troops of Operation Fansan Yamma resulted in the killing of 12 bandits, including a senior commander known as Dogo, and the capture of seven motorcycles.

 Kogi State police command says officers attached to Police Mobile Force, 70 Squadron, Kabba, foiled the abduction of passengers along Kabba-Ayere road in the state. Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, ASP William Aya, disclosed this to newsmen in Lokoja, at the weekend.

 Police operatives in Abia and Nasarawa states have rescued four kidnapped victims and neutralised seven criminals, including a notorious kidnapping kingpin known as ‘Honor’, during separate operations. A statement by the Force Public Relations Officer on Sunday, said the operations also led to the recovery of several arms and ammunition, while some suspects escaped with gunshot wounds.

Adamawa State Police Command has arrested two suspected ritualists for the murder of a 10-year-old Almajiri boy in the Jada Local Government Area of the state. This was made known in a statement signed by the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP. Suleiman Nguroje and shared on the police X (formerly Twitter) account on Sunday.

 A police inspector, Ajele Oloyede, has reportedly died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at a ceramics company in Igbesa, Ogun State, where he was stationed as part of the security detail. According to the state police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, an officer from Force Headquarters Annex, Lagos, Tolorunloju Stephen, discovered the incident upon returning from Ikeja around 1:20 p.m.
