 The House of Representatives has passed for second reading, a Bill to strip the Vice President, Governors and their deputies of immunity against prosecution. The Bill sponsored by Rep. Solomon Bob, passed through second reading alongside 41 other bills at the Plenary on Wednesday.




 The Independent National Electoral Commission says petitioners for the recall of the suspended Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, have submitted their contact address, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses. INEC’s National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Sam Olumekun, confirmed that the petitioners submitted their details on Wednesday.

The Lakurawa group on Tuesday killed two Customs officers and a local at Bachaka border in Argungu Local Government Area of Kebbi state. The latest attack came barely 24 hours after combined security forces neutralised two Lakurawa members in the area.

 Four bills seeking the creation of additional states across the country have passed through second reading at the House of Representatives. The House also passed 38 other bills seeking to alter the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) and provide various amendments in the ongoing Constitution amendment exercise by the 10th Assembly.

 Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have shot dead five suspected kidnappers, arresting three others. Police Public Relations Officer of the state Command, Mr. Bright Edafe who disclosed this in a statement, yesterday, said the suspected kidnappers had engaged the police officers in a gun duel.

###### The Rivers State Sole Administrator, Retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, has suspended political appointees and office holders in the state with immediate effect. In a statement on Wednesday, the Chief of Staff to the Administrator said the decision was made under the powers granted to Ibas by President Bola Tinubu.

A bill for an Act to alter the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999, to include citizenship by investment as one of the classes of citizenship in Nigeria, scaled second reading at the House of Representatives on Wednesday.

 A High Court in Plateau State on Wednesday sentenced two persons, Thomas Danboyi and Pam Lang, to death by hanging for their roles in the killing of one Chung Bot. The verdict was delivered by the state Chief Judge, Justice David Gwong Mann, at the High Court in Jos on Wednesday.

 At least five suspected kidnappers were killed during a gunfight with the Delta State Police Command at their hideout in a forest in the Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state. The state Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, stated on Wednesday that three suspects, including the gang leader, Adamu Abubakar, popularly known as Dogo, were arrested following the gunfight.
