Court Rules That 16-Year Minimum Admission Age Set By JAMB Is Unconstitutional

A recent court ruling has declared that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board's (JAMB) policy of setting a minimum admission age of 16 years is unconstitutional. 
The court found that this age restriction violates the fundamental right to freedom from discrimination as enshrined in section 42 of the 1999 Constitution and ordered universities to admit qualified candidates regardless of their age......

  2. Some public office holders are just round pegs in square holes.

    It was obvious the decision‐makers on JAMB management were playing to the gallery with that age restriction condition for admissions.

    I remember commenting that would be denying any child prodigy the right to education for being naturally gifted.

    It was poised to stifle ingenuity and Innovation.
