''In 2020, I posted about being unemployed and jilted by my partner of five years. It was depressing, but I held on to God and kept trying different things. I took free courses on Coursera and got a job afterward in line with the free course I took, but I lost the job before I even began.
I pivoted, took another free course, and learned a skill. I really struggled to get patronage after I finished learning the skill. The few clients I had offered pittance in exchange for it. I took it because I was ashamed to keep asking my parents for money at 30+.
I was in a research program, and ASUU went on strike twice around this time. I often heard my parents crying to God at midnight, saying they hadn't invested so much in me for me to end up at the bottom of the ladder. I often depended on friends for ₦1k, ₦2k, and I was always scared of spending because I wasn't sure where the next money would come from. It was tough, but I held on to God. I knew He was the only one who could get me out, but I didn't know how.
I kept applying for jobs, but my applications were unsuccessful. I tried relocating, but immigration held on to my passport for months with no respite in sight. I kept praying. While waiting for my passport, I stumbled on a free course online. I took it and enrolled in a professional exam related to the course. I made some mistakes in the exam and came to the blog to seek prayers for mercy. My results came out, and I passed. But I still couldn't get a job.
One day, I was at my wit's end and cried out painfully to God, begging Him for a job. Afterwards, I had an idea to start coaching people on how to ace the exams I took, but patronage was low until a friend recommended his younger brother. I taught the guy like my life depended on it, and he passed. A week later, an online institution advertised a job role for virtual tutors in this area I had chosen to major in. The job requirement at the time was to have passed the course and taught someone who passed. I met the criteria.
My interview was online. For the first time, an employer asked me how much I'd love to earn. I got the job. This job gave me global relevance, a platform to touch lives, inspire dreams, and draw my students closer to their Creator.
Three years on, my employer handed the business over to me. I earn in seven figures now. By God's grace, I can take care of my folks.

DeleteThat one no be ex, na thief on a mission from day one. You mean you have been in touch with him or he has been stalking your progress. What has been been doing with his life for all those years and why show up now that you earn in seven figures? Run, run, run for your life and destiny with your toes touching your BRAIN as you flee. There is no confusion here, only the devil in action. The same way you cried to God, cry to him again for a soul mate and genuine partner.
DeleteGods timing is NEVER late!
ReplyDeleteNever ever late.He always comes through with the greatest gifts.
DeleteGod is Faithful

ReplyDeleteThis is so refreshing, congratulations poster. I am happy for you. God surely works in mysterious ways
ReplyDeleteWhy did he leave you then
ReplyDeleteHe left because my salary was 35000 naira before I lost my job. I never bothered him for money while we were together.
DeletePlease don't ever take him back, he wants to come and eat from the cake now that you've made it, gold digger.
DeleteHe's a gold digger then. he was short sighted and didn't see your potentials. Your ex is back because your salary is in 7 figures. He didn't even value your good qualities of not asking him for a dime when you were earning low. Please don't go back to that your ex, he doesn't love you. He only wants what he can get from you. Move forward and trust God to give you a man that will love you unconditionally. exes should stay in the past. Congratulations poster. God is faithful.
DeleteCongratulations dear, your resilience and hardwork paid off finally 🎉🎉

Lol, I can never take him back. He treated me with utmost hatred. I want a kind partner.
DeleteI am just here living and loving my life, trying to be better than I was yesterday. In my spare time, I read my favorite books, binge watch my favourite series, exercise, engage in bible study, attend research seminars, acquire financial intelligence and upskill continuously until God settles me maritally.
DeleteBut they wanted the guy in acrimony to take the babe back after he made money o.

DeleteI am the poster and I just turned 34. I was few months past 30 when it happened.
ReplyDeleteYou're young poster. Infact, your ex leaving you then was a blessing in disguise cos it gave you room to focus on yourself, upskill and be where you are now. The exes always come back but never return to an ex.
DeleteCongrats poster! Your blessings will be permanent in Jesus name.

ReplyDeleteThat you even had to mention that your ex want you to take him back is worrisome to me. Not every event in our lives are worth even mentioning. The only thing I would want to hear you say about your ex is that, you have forgiven him and moved on.
ReplyDeleteI beg no go dey find wetin no lost o. Toh!
I’m sure there’s a reason she had to mention that and you and I know her reason is valid.
DeleteNo, I am not taking him back. I have attained self-consciousness. I know what I want.

ReplyDeleteThere's always light at the end of the tunnel.i tell you,he can never leave you in a state of confusion, Never! He is not a man that can lie,He is God Almighty. The ruler of the universe.
ReplyDeleteSometimes he allows us to go through the storm, to bring us back to himself.
That your ex came back cos you made it, if you have remained where he left you, he will never come back. Just focus on what you are doing to put good food on your table and say nope to your ex.
ReplyDeleteIf you take him back, what he will do to you, you may not recover from it. He should go and make his own name ot money, he came back cos he has exhausted thr one he took from you before now. Congratulations to you.
Congratulations babes and thanks for sharing. Please don't take him back.
ReplyDeleteI was just "wowing" like a serene when I got to the last lines of your chronicle 😫😂. I love good news! And I absolutely celebrate with you. God was preparing you for the level you are right now.

ReplyDeletePoster, in what area did you Major in ? And you are good in tutoring people?
ReplyDeleteEverything happens for a reason, assuming life didn't treat you the way it did, would you have thought about trying different things that has paved way for you today with the experiences that came with each of the struggles? I have always told people that our sufferings today are God's way of making us qualified to handle greater opportunities because without those bad experiences, you won't be able to fit-in properly in sensitive and taxing areas.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you bro/sis. This is how I will testify someday.
