Sacrifices are powerful and a fundamental personal attempt by human to communicate with the transcendent reality upon which we feel dependent on.
ReplyDeleteChrist is a sacrificial lamb to save us. We sacrifice most things we have (time, money energy etc) for family and friends.
Religiously, sacrifice is a response in action by giving ourselves to devotion and service upon which we feel dependent on.
In all sacrifices, the consecrated life of the person offering the sacrifice is librated as a sacred potency and it equally establishes a bond between the person and supreme power.
That is why in the only days, they do a lot of human sacrifices to cleanse the land. Some cultures sacrifice some of their people when their king dies.
However, the “blood of Jesus Christ speaks better words than the blood of Abel” and we all are redeemed by HIS blood and need no more sacrifices.
