He said “Have you ever wondered when this issue started it is only yesterday that I realized that what we are talking about only happened after the change of seat in the senate that was when hell was let loosed and all sorts of allegations came up. Only after the change of seat and change of committee which my senators know which happens from time to time. And she said it happened on the 8th of December a day to my birthday which was celebrated in the stadium in 2023.
So, from 8th of December 2023, I never heard my wife, never heard Nigeria, never heard even the husband, never heard any issue of s#xual harassment until her committee was changed and her seat was changed, then she went off. Have you ever wondered the trauma caused by that same woman on other people she had accused in the past? none has been proven so far.
Do you wonder the trauma caused to the image of the senate and the 10th senate with all these useless allegations. I have refrained myself from making a statement. look at these beautiful women (women in the senate) they have come across me so many times, have I ever harassed any of you? Or is the person thinking you are not beautiful? I don’t want to dwell on that, let me just say that time will tell, if we are in court the court will decide.''
Hmmm, like court will decide for real 😳 Akuko
ReplyDeleteThe seat issue was just THE LAST STRAW in Akpabio's victimization of Natasha! For a long time, he had been refusing to tender her motion for an investigation of the Ajaokuta steel industry. He would treat other senator's motions but refuse to address Natasha's. It got so bad she had to speak to her husband to intervene. As if that was not enough, he removed her from a committee, he still went ahead to attack her character by saying "this is not a nightclub" for which he was forced to tender an apology. Akpabio has been bullying Natasha for a long time. Why is that so, if I may ask? What changed in their relationship that made him start antagonizing her??? Going by his promiscuous antecedents, it is OBVIOUS THAT THIS IS A CASE OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT!
DeleteBecause you have access to me doesn't mean you should try pushing your opinion in my throat. I won't swallow it.
ReplyDeleteLet me again restate my position on this matter.
1. The Outburst by Sen.Natasha at the Senate floor was totally unnecessary, unreasonable, erratic and unacceptable.infact not a wise thing to do at all. Respect constituted authorities.
2. There are better ways to handle issues,as an educated person, you are not expected to behave like a tout. Sen. Natasha spoke from that same seat she rejected yesterday???? 🥺🥺🥺,So why didn't she take the seat and later raise a motion to negotiate for a better one or even book sick and leave the plenary that day??????
3. Same seat allocation issue has happen in the past and the senators involved apologized to the leadership of the Senate and continued with their legislative duties. Why didn't Sen. Natasha H Akpoti apologies to the leadership of the Senate immediately and continue with her job??????
Once you don ask person for sex,the person somehow forgets your position in life. Akpabio outside the Senate is a Man and may not deserve Natasha's apology,But Akpabio at the hallowed chambers of the Nigerian Senate is the Senate president.( I think this is where my Sister got it wrong). Again Akpabio does not stand alone to make decisions in the Senate,So it is the Leadership of the Senate that sen. Natasha disrespected. And she will definitely apologize except she's not interested in her job.
4. You can't start a fight from place of Disadvantage. Let me repeat this point,YOU CAN'T START A FIGHT FROM PLACE OF DISADVANTAGE.
5. Akpabio's mega birthday rally happened many months ago, that's when sen. Natasha has alleged that she was first harassed at Sen. Akpabio's house. The club girl talk also happened many months ago.
6. If Sen. Natasha sincerely felt harassed, she should have called her team of lawyers sit with them, present her case and evidence, weigh the options and possibilities of having a good case in court, after that, take a decision, move to a court of competent jurisdiction and file Sexual harassment case against Sen. Akpabio while going about her Legislative duties.
7. If she felt Akpabio didn't allow her work and take things back home to her People, she should have called for a town hall meeting, explain her plight to her people, have them write to the Senate stating everything the Senate president has done to twat her efforts, including abuse of Power and sexual harassment.
Then her people will stand behind her because she's not in the Senate for herself but for a people.
Finally,I condemn in totality mixing a serious offense committed against the whole Nigerian Senate with sexual harassment between her and Akpabio. It doesn't make sense.
I am not saying sen. Natasha was or was not harassed,I'm only saying that you can't use a robe to tie your own self. Everyone is talking about the insubordination you committed on the Senate floor, instead of looking for ways to remedy that one,you start a personal fight with the person who seats as president and will decide your case. Wrong strategy.
Up till yesterday, she still said she hasn't filed the sexual harassment case in court,Now that she's been temporarily relieved of her job on grounds of Insubordination , let her go ahead and file it.- if she had filed this case in court,it won't still change the fact that she needs to apologize to the Nigerian Senate for that outburst.
Incase you are a woman and still has not seen the wrongs of Sen. Natasha, then I'm disappointed at you.
This is not a gender fight and doesn't qualify as one in all ramifications.
Calm down and strategize your fights.

DeleteMakes sense. Sentiments aside. Natasha, do the right thing and present your cases accordingly.

DeleteIt's called consequential.
ReplyDeleteSomething must bring something up. The mere fact that she did not speak up then did not mean it did not happen.
The he- goat knows in the depth of his heart that she is saying the truth.
This is not a made up story knowing the antecedents of the accused.
That person is a womaniser and his wife knows. What made her to run to South Africa at one point? She used to fight and eliminate girls in their days in Aks. Girls will line up with a doctor in attendance who will test each and every one of them for STD cause he does it raw .
He is known to be a ladies man.
SN is a victim of circumstances.
Even those his aides know what that man can do.
Deep down he knows he truly harassed her
My dear, nobody is saying he did or did not harass her however her method of delivery was absolutely wrong in all ways.
DeleteEven the way she spoke can be deemed as aggressive.
You cannot accuse your boss of sexual harassment on national TV, no you follow due process and let HR investigate appropriately.
In relation to the seat issue, she could have just apologies for her outburst.
See food for SP.

What 'a robust' reply/ reaction from our senate president.
ReplyDeleteWhy Was Beautiful Natasha Sit Change At First..
ReplyDeleteIs That How Sit Is Change In Senate House?..
If No Be Trouble The Person Dey Find..
Hello iya Boys
Part 1.
ReplyDeleteI will like to chronicle this here for the benefit of those who may be confused and also for my own future reference.
On 20th February, 2025, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, Senator representing Kogi Central had a face off with the Senate President; Godswill Akpabio over sitting arrangements. Her seat had been reassigned and she would not have it.
Note that reassignment of seats did not affect only her, neither was it an illegal thing to do as it is well within the powers of the Senate President.
She was going to talk from her unofficial seat and the Senate President was not going to hear her, so, the face off. Fellow Senators approached her to quell the heat but she said over her dead body would she go to the reassigned seat. She shouted very well from where she was seated.
Subsequently, the matter was referred to the Ethics Committee of the Senate to hear her and give a verdict.
That was the event of 20th February and all the facts of it which the media and Nigerian populace continued discussing.
But in a twist of events, on 28th February, 2025, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan went on Arise Television and claimed that Akpabio, on December 8th 2023 sexually harassed her by telling her in his Akwa Ibom home that if she liked the interior of one of his rooms, they could always come to have a nice time there.
Of course, sexual harassment, assault and what have you are very sensitive issues. And it is very capable of swaying discussions, allegiance and sympathies. And so, it did! Natasha is a fine girl afterall, and many men may want to have a piece of her.
Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan also called out many Senators for trying to prevail on her to make peace with the Senate President. Mind you, when these Senators called her, we had not heard of the sexual harassment part. So, we cannot say Senators (especially Senator Ireti Kingibe who many are now hating on) were trying to shut her down from the sexual assault allegation. The accused Senators have since then explained to the world that they were just being peacemakers and did not threaten her in anyway, with even the Senate leader calling on the DSS to investigate his call(s) to her.
Going forward, the Ethics Committee invited her to a hearing on her conduct of 20th February, not the sexual harassment allegation. Remember her matter had been referred to the committee before the plot twist of sexual harassment.
But what did Natasha do? She approached the court via an exparte motion to procure an order stopping her 'trial' before the committee. Inspite that the committee had already commenced its work.
Part 2
ReplyDeleteShe then went ahead to attend plenary on 5th March to officially submit a sexual harassment and abuse of office related petition against the Senate President, which the Senate President promptly referred to the Ethics Committee. Fair enough!
However, this same day was the day she was supposed to appear before the Ethics Committee on the matter of 20th February. But she didn't attend. She only attended plenary and left. Meaning she would not appear before the committee to answer to her own alleged misconduct, but wanted the same committee to 'try' the Senate President on her own allegations.
Going forward, the Committee on Ethics, after having no other choice since Natasha did not attend their sessions, recommended a six months suspension for her (ON HER CONDUCT OF 20TH FEBRUARY). The Senators put this to a voice vote where interestingly unanimously, the suspension was approved.
Of course, public outcry has followed her suspension. She had alleged sexual harassment afterall, a very sensitive allegation capable of swinging sympathy in the favour of the alledger. It worked a great deal and people are no longer talking about her own conduct but the alleged sexual harassment; whether true or not. The discussion is now not about her conduct which her suspension is based upon, but it is now that they suspended her because she alleged the Senate President of sexually harassing her. It was going to go like that anyways.
My opinion:
1. I find a lot of holes in Mrs. Akpoti-Uduaghan's allegations. I do not conveniently believe her because there are a lot of factors and facts in the event and in her past conducts that cast a lot of doubts in my mind. I do not understand how I will not leave this seat would turn to you sexually harassed me in 2023, even when facts abound of you and the Senate President being very cordial for the most part of 2024. It looks very convenient to me. And I have no apologies for this. I may not be able to say 100% that she is telling lies because one should leave some space for a little doubt but to my mind, this is not a regular or original case where a woman would spontaneously cry out about sexual harassment. Hers had to be conveniently wrapped in politics, ego, and emotions. I'm sorry, I find it very hard to be convinced.
Part 3
ReplyDelete2. In courts of law too, when deciding on an accused person's case, the Judge has the right to look into his/her past conduct. Mrs. Akpoti-Uduaghan had once alleged Reno Omokri of a similar thing which turned out to be very false and upon which she has never uttered a word of apology till today. Same her had once written a very damaging letter about her now loving husband accusing him of battery, assault, foeticide amongst many other offences, when it looked like that one was not going to marry her. Same husband that is now the apple of her eye today. It presents her to me as a very combative person who can fight anyhow.
My suggestion is that if Mrs. Akpoti-Uduaghan would cooperate, her allegations should be thoroughly investigated. Sexual offences related allegations are grave and should not be swept under the carpet. The Senate President is a male politician afterall and anything is possible, especially as he too was once so alleged (although, unproved unlike Natasha's that was disproved by Reno).
What I would not accept is to fully accept Natasha's story as the gospel without giving any room to the possibility of Akpabio's innocence as we now are seeing it, inspite of all the pointers to the fact that Natasha may be lying.
I want to categorically state that I am not one of those women that support women blindly even when there are a lot of holes. I am not one of the women that want men to walk on eggshells because of our sexuality. If I rise today and say any of the men I have worked closely with sexually harassed me, everyone will believe even when I have no proof and I am just being vindictive. I don't want that. Women's lives matter, men's do too. I am not a woman to be blackmailed into causes that may be false, until we are clear.
I am also that woman that when it truly and genuinely matters and not fueled by politics, ego and personal interest, you can count on me. I will fight your cause as much as is within my powers and access.
Make of the two stances what you would.
Lastly, I would like to mention that if as a Senator amidst 108 others from across different political parties (your own party inclusive), ethnicities, religions and gender who sit with you at the chamber everyday, you cannot find just one to support you, that it is now left to onlookers who don't have access to your day to day conduct at the Senate to think you're the only right one of the 109, I think it is really bothersome.
