The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced plans to cancel its Visa-on-Arrival policy (which was introduced in 2020). stating that it is not effective. Instead,a landing and exit card will be introduced, which prospective visitors will need to pre-fill before entering Nigeria.
The Visa-on-Arrival policy, allowed eligible travelers to obtain visas at entry points. However, the new system will require visitors to complete landing and exit cards, which will be integrated with visa and passport systems and linked to global background check systems.
This will help ensure that Nigeria is not a destination for wanted criminals and will improve the overall management of migration into the country.
