 What a sory!!!

My cousin's traditional marriage was meant to happen during this festive season, we all came home for the marriage, she is pregnant, on the morning of the traditional marriage, she collapsed, we were running around looking for vehicle or bike to carry her to the hospital, the husband (A Benin guy) drove in from nowhere and said he knew that such would happen cos his mom has told him but he didn't believe her until she told him to run to his girl's place that something bad had happened....

Na so we de look like goat head..

 we prayed and prayed, nothing happened, he said once they carry her to the hospital, say she go kpaii, the girl's father went and brought in a native doctor, the man came and said it was a case of promise and covenant, hmmmm, they said the mom made some promises and entered into some kind of covenant with a deity that she wants to be called a mother by fire by force cos ma she be their only child, that they even told her that if she no fulfill her part of the bargain, that the girl go kpaii before her marriage day and she must not get pregnant unless she and whoever that will marry her must come and buy her properties from the river and bring it home, the thing come de do me like Nollywood..

They did all they can, even the mother confessed that the reason it happened that way was because she didn't fulfill her part of the bargain and when things got bad for the girl, she went back to the place but the baba that took her through the process had kpaii'd long long time ago, so she kept trusting God that the Edith

 would forgive her and set her daughter free, they did all they could but the girl no stand up....

Tthe nurse they sent for came, put drip, did all she could yet the girl no stand up, I told my brother that we should try God again since all this one's has failed, we started with praises, sang to an extent and it felt like the heavens were opened and I could feel the presence of God already, suddenly it felt like someone held my throat and I started coughing, serious cough oo, one of our sisters took over, at a point we didn't know what to pray again, we started thanking God endlessly, appreciating God for everything, after a few minutes of praise, she got up, come and see joy!! It was something else, they bath her, did some ritual and got her back to get ready to for marriage-::::

From nowhere, she said she won't marry again, this came shortly after she asked me what happened and I narrated everything to her, she said the guy is from a fetish family and she wants to marry a believer because of the story surrounding her birth, the father said over his dead body that he won't see shame, they forced her to do the marriage, immediately after the exchange of wine, they got up to dance, she collapsed again, na so everywhere scatter, we prayed, cried and did everything humanly possible to wake her up, she refused, the man and his family angrily left her at her parents house, even their white wedding that was scheduled to happen the next day, did not happen again because of that incident, she's up now but she can't speak, she's just moping, I don't know what to call that show of shame but I pray God delivers her......
