Lagos Assembly Ìnvites DSS And The Police To Stop Sacked Speaker Obasa From Resuming

A Letter showing that the Lagos State House of Assembly requested the Department of State Services (DSS) to strengthen security around the Assembly complex ahead of February 18, 2025 has emerged. 

This request was made because  of reports that the impeached Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, planned to return to his position.

The acting Clerk of the House, Abubakar Ottun, warned that Obasa's attempt to resume office could pose a security threat to the Assembly and its members13. The House urged the DSS to deploy operatives from February 16th to enforce strict access control within and around the premises.

The situation has led to a significant security presence at the Assembly complex, with police officers and DSS operatives stationed both inside and outside the premises.
