IBBGATE -Former Head Of State Banangida Explains Why Buhari Was Ousted Via A Coup In 1985

Nigeria's Former Head of state Ibrahim Babangida has revealed the reasons behind the 1985 coup that ousted General Muhammadu Buhari. According to Babangida, he disagreed with Buhari's policies and leadership style, which he believed were detrimental to the nation's progress.

Babangida claimed that Buhari's administration was enforcing harsh decrees that infringed on citizens' fundamental rights and freedoms. He also accused Buhari and his deputy, Tunde Idiagbon, of adopting an inflexible and uncompromising approach to governance.

The coup, which took place on August 27, 1985, was a response to the growing discontent among Nigerians and the need for a change in leadership. Babangida maintained that his actions were aimed at reconnecting the government with the people and restoring hope in the country's future.
The processes associated with the change were completed without bloodshed by midnight on August 26, 1985.

  6. Buhari did not attend this book launch, seems Buhari has not forgiven and forgotten after all these years. 😂 Someone said Buhari should write his own book. Write what? You know not the man. Buhari is the most uninspiring leader ever, he has nothing to say and nothing to write. No speech to give, no one to mentor. No contribution to national discourses, nothing. No one invites him to grace an occasion or to give speeches or even honorary doctorate or award, none. I want to think that's APC legacy (cos Tinubu is like that at the moment). But seems Bubu was like that too in 1985...
