POWER VERSUS MONEY
I was assigned to a department where employees have the chance to earn extra money outside their regular salary. The department is led and mainly staffed by individuals from a different religion than mine. Whenever opportunities for additional earnings arise, my two colleagues and I, who share the same religion, are consistently excluded. When I shared my concerns with a colleague I thought was close to me, they escalated the matter with lies.
However, when it is time for actual work, I am called upon to deliver results, and everyone looks to me to get the task done. But when it comes to opportunities for extra income, they are kept hidden from me. The travel files are always kept secret until the trip is over.
Last year June I was redeployed to a new department. I had mixed feelings when I received the redeployment letter. My boss and some colleagues from my previous department bombarded me with questions, wondering why I chose to leave when others were trying to join that department. I recently found out that my boss, along with the colleague I considered closest to me, were the ones who initiated my redeployment, and they have their own reasons for doing so.
Now, in my new department, there is no opportunity for extra income, but there’s power. I have the opportunity to redeploy others or even move to any department I choose. I am torn between redeploying myself back to my previous department to make a statement or redeploying the key individuals who caused me pain out of that department. What do you all think?

Hahahahahahahha this is God at work..Please redeploy all of them out of there and face front....Dont go back there cos it still wont favour you but use the power, it will bring money later......REDEPLOY ALL OF THEM NOW!!!
Somebody shout KARMA!
ReplyDeleteSend all of them out of there with immediate alacrity.
KARMA!!!!
DeleteSister send them to by fire! By thunder! By speed! Like David, pursue, overtake leave no stone unturned......no mercy, no mercy
DeleteRedeploy them and scatter them join, do not redeploy any of them to your new department.
ReplyDelete🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 scatter them got me and that’s good.
DeleteUse your power to even the playing field for others. I hate this type of clique behaviour in the office and ppl getting cut out of opportunities that everyone irrespective of religion or tribe should have access to. If you now have power to make a change, then do so!
ReplyDeletePls don’t listen to those telling you to use your power to redeploy . Do you know what meekness means? Be meek and don’t seek to take vengeance on anyone.
ReplyDeleteRedeploy them to another department, let new set people enjoy the extra income.
ReplyDeleteRevenge is sweet when served cold. Move them to another department. The extra income is not meant for them alone
ReplyDeletePoster first off Congratulations 🎊 what are the odds to placed strategically like this in the midst of chaos....
ReplyDeletePlease accept the redeployment however play this politics to your favour and this is an opportunity to right all the wrongs for those who may have been shortchanged like you....The truth is everything is not money; but placing yourself strategically in the workplace helps you in the long run...
If I were you, this is what I will do....
1. Start by either Hiring or deploying people from different religion, tribe or creed to weaken the powers of your former department colleagues...Don't be quick to get back at them, it may backfire...The stealth of the tiger is not mistaken as gentility....
2. In the office, there are cabals identify one or two and ensure they are always on your side and they align with any decision you make.. Place yourself and study them very well....
3. Don't deploy any of them to your new department...Carry out a performance review & skills assessment in all departments; anyone who does not meet expectation as per performance or skills either you redeploy, demote, place them on performance improvement plan if no improvement, they will be asked to leave the company.....
Always follow due process and keep your cards close to your chest so they can never guess your moves...In all exercise fairness and document everything you do....
Read books like the Prince by Niccolo Machavelli, study the likes of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Secrets of winning at Office Politics by Marie McIntyre and Office politics: how to thrive in a world of lying By Oliver James...
You can't escape office politics, play with tact and fairness...
All the best
Sister this one u r talking will work perfectly in a private organisation. From what i understand, at least from the OP’s write up, it sounds line govt job and if it is, ur advice won’t work. Govt work is a totally different ball game all together.
DeleteAnonymous 17.27 So tell us what will work. Someone has given a sound advice instead of adding or giving another opinion, you are saying it won't work. So tell us what works 😥
DeleteRedeploy their black Asses to the least department where they will work and work without any benefits except their salary.
ReplyDeleteWicked suls deerves no mercy.
DOZZYBEST.
Redeploy them and face front. Redeploy all the modaf**ers.
ReplyDeleteIf only God will open our eyes to see what he consistently save us from
ReplyDeleteYou should be doing thanksgiving for being redeployed. Anyone that can plot for your downfall can kill you. Is it not better to be redeployed that to be poisoned?. Use this opportunity to make contacts that will help you in your career.
Let them know you are aware of what they did.
Don't redeploy them watch and see how karma will pay them back.
Karma ain’t gonna pay them shyt. If we all wait for karma nothing ever changes on this earth. Ppl have to have guts and courage to effect change. The issue is not even about getting revenge, it’s about opening doors to everyone. How I hate tribalism in all of its manifestations.
DeleteI hire ppl and I don’t play with ppl. I hire old, young, ppl with tattoos, piercings, single mothers, gay ppl, trans ppl. I truly hate this idea of holding on to opportunities just because others are different. It’s wickedness and those ppl will go to their worship house and say they are praising God. They are godless and wicked.
Poster, don't use your power against them, vengeance belongs to God. Continue to grow your portfolio,So when you retire, you can become a consultant.
ReplyDeleteJust leave them to God n face front. You will have your breakthrough in Jesus name AMEN. Dong repay evil for evil
ReplyDeleteDo not use your power on them, you do not need it. They never knew that when they deployed you to your new department, it was God at work.
ReplyDeleteYou can watch them for a while and see how you can scatter them so that their power will be less from treating new people in a badly way. Make sure you speak to God before you do anything cos you too cannot stay in that department forever.
Redeploy them all but don't go back again
