Azuka was abducted on December 24, 2024, in Onitsha but his decomposing body was found in the early hours of Thursday February 6, 2025 at the 2nd Niger Bridge by a joint security team comprising the police and operatives of the Anambra Vigilante Group (AVG).
The Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, confirmed the arrest of the suspects on Friday during a press briefing at the command headquarters in Awka, the state capital.
Itam said that following the recovery of Azuka’s corpse, the joint security operatives acting on intelligent-led information arrested nine suspects actively involved in the unfortunate incident and recovered two pump action guns.
One of the suspects sustained a gunshot injury in his leg during a gun duel with the Police operatives, the CP said.
He identified the arrested suspects to include 30-year-old Ugochukwu Onuorah; 20-year-old Ikemefuna Ossai; 27-year-old Ikenna Orugu; 19-year-old Chibuike Obiefuna, and 19-year-old Chinonso Olisa.
Others are; 21-year-old Chinedu Okoli; 25-year-old David Ojini, and 20-year-old Peter Sunday, described by the police as the most notorious of them with a big tattoo inscription of "No Peace 4 the Government" on his chest.

When I asked her what the boy does for a living and she said “pressing” but God favoured him. This boy lives in a hotel now, visits his mom with a lady holding him, he smokes in the presence of his mother too!
