Thanks for your understanding. Compliments of the Season to all blog visitors!''
Stella this bv has allegedly dropped some very useful insights, i read it last week abi 2 weeks ago, but it was too late for me to drop a comment.
ReplyDeleteMy health was fibroid for years . Had surgery . Thank God is all over. Fibroid be gone forever you don't belong in my body nor other health issues Amen!!! Happy New year everyone. God will do it for us.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to say this but fibroids are more likely to come back after a myomectomy. Mostly due to the scarring on the uterus. Unless they are over a certain size, embolisation should be the preferred procedure. Overall, better food and lifestyle choices should be the first response. No relaxers, hair dyes, household bleach, soy and other estrogen friendly products. And avoid stress.
Delete2025 might be the year I start to educate women on fibroids from my own personal experience and research. God bless and strengthen women.
I am looking forward to Menopause. Maybe its Psychological , But i HATE Period.
ReplyDeleteIt literally Dulls me. I almost postponed my Registry the Morning i woke up/ " it Showed"
I dont live the 1st/ 2nd day of Period, i drink Whiskey and Sleep Back to Back.
Marie please is the whisky the cause of your sleeping back to back because I need anything to make me sleep better now.
DeleteBeing a woman is not a days job. We go through alot, but the worst for me is irritability and mood swings. It makes me to nag my husband and shout at my children all the time and i always regret it. Don't even know when i do these things
DeleteI hate it too, that's like one of the few perks of pregnancy for me, I had even considered at various points getting contraception that makes it cease for months at a time but I'm not ready for the hormonal side effects, so I didn't go ahead.
DeleteNow that I know how Menopausal symptoms can be a real drag queen for some women, I don't look forward to it either, I can only hope mine transitions smoothly.
Anon 14:11 ... Yes it is. But Please Note that I Buy Original Drinks and i go thru this Route only 2times in a Month,Cos we know too much of everything is Bad.
DeleteAnon 14:15 ...My Darling it was between Been Quarelsome or lethargic ( Sluggish) and i chose Lethargic.
@ Dainty Babes, i am telling You, My Mom transited well, Aside from the internal Heat and Midnight chills and Sweat, She is Fine and Mehnnnn i am My Mother's Daughter
And you think menopause is easier? Ee go shock you!!!
DeleteThis menopause is one thing I never prepared for! I didn't even realise what I was going through till my nurse friend reminded me I was 42years at that time and could be going through primenopause. My symptoms were mood swings, trouble sleeping, hot flashes, night sweats and si many other. I'm 44 now and still battling with all the symptoms. Women are really strong and alot of us don't even know what we experience
ReplyDeleteManage the symptoms by taking Vitamin E or Evening Primrose oil, take enough water, manage your stress, create a conducive atmosphere to sleep at night. While doing these track your symptoms. Hang on ,the phase will soon pass.
DeleteOh Stella, Nwanyioma, Happy New Year! I really appreciate this post. I am the anonymous person that sent the message.
ReplyDeleteI am very passionate about women and their health. Due to what I have seen in my profession, a lot goes on in our bodies from Menarche to Child bearing to Menopause.
Menopause comes early in some women these days, unlike I still remember my mom saw her period till 55, but I see women starting Menopause before 40. I still believe what we eat and expose our bodies too can either bring it earlier or later! Our genetics too, when your Menarche comes early, most times Menopause comes early too!
Early signs of Menopause that's very common are hot flashes followed by Night sweats and irregular periods, others include mood changes, sleep disorders, lack of concentration, physical changes, these ones vary with individuals.
While in Menopause, most women complain of joint pains, because the bone health is no longer strong due to declining oestrogen.
There are heart issues, there are a lot of changes based on individual differences, I don't see it as a case of one size fits all!
I wrote before eating with your eyes once you are 35 and above, and it is it!
Prepare for Menopause, eat healthy, vegetables, calcium and Vitamin D based diet for Bone health, Vitamin E ( some women don't tolerate this in higher quantities as it causes headache in some people, please natural source is better if possible, or lower dose ), Walk! Walk!!Walk!!!. Exercise is a big duty for most of us but walking can give us good benefits too, if you can lift objects, you can buy and do them at home.Stay hydrated! On average as a woman, you are to drink that small bottle of water 3 or 4 daily ,I think is 50cl or so. Dehydration leads to headaches too. Manage your stress levels, track your symptoms to be able to explain yourself better before your doctor. When you are able to explain exactly how it is and is going for you, it will be easier for a doctor to give you what is better and safer for you! Relax , Menopause is normal, Ain't nothing wrong with you!
NB; If you are no longer seeing your period before 45 please visit the hospital to rule out serious cases, cos it is better that the monthly friend is coming still at the period even if not so regular.
Thank you for this.
DeleteThank you. Very educative.
DeleteI honestly did not even know there was a whole dedicated treatment procedure/plan for managing perimenoupausal/menopausal symptoms till recently, at least I was not taught in pharmacy school 10 years ago.
ReplyDeleteI just learnt about it proper now that I started preparing for my conversion exams here and boy are there a lot!
Women dey try sha, ordinary to stop menstruation could bring a myriad of symptoms that could last for as long as 10 years, ogini!
Reading up about menopause and it's symptoms prepared my mind for it. I was taking Evening Primrose supplement, which really helped me through my phase. I started having delayed and scanty periods when I was 45, and stopped having my periods when I turned 51. I am 53 Turing 54 this year
ReplyDeleteYes, Evening Primrose oil is good too! Even for ttc mothers to boost quality eggs for fertilisation too. When a woman starts preparation on time, it ease the phase for her.
DeleteI drink CBD (hemp oil) and also drunk purgative teicea month. Havent suffered from hot flashes since then, periods are regular, mind fog and lack of concentration gone etc a Chinese man told me that the heat comes from the liver cos it's over stuffed
ReplyDeleteI am actively in menopause right now and I wished someone had prepared me for this. Thankfully, my mood and patience is not disturbed. The hot flashes are hell, like you get get really hot for about two minutes and then it goes away. It comes and goes throughout the day. I am so grateful that this is happening in the winter time. I would likely be ten times more miserable if it was summer or I lived in a hot climate. I salute every woman who has gone through menopause in a hot place. I can’t even imagine it. The evening primrose oil helps by lessening the frequency. But I hate taking pills so I don’t take the recommended daily dose. There is a video on IG of a woman’s head smoking as she is having a hot flash outside.
ReplyDeleteThe insomnia is the worst. The sleep disturbances are on a whole other level. I take melatonin which does help tremendously and I am going to start magnesium too.
Then the skin breakouts were the most shocking thing. I did not know menopause could cause breakouts, but it is quite common for many women. Yes, I got my teenager face all over again. I had to get rigorous on skincare and it helped, but I don’t know when it will be back to normal all together.
Mothers, aunts other women need to speak openly about this with adult women. From you hit 40 please read some books and get some knowledge about menopause so you know what to expect and can prepare better. I wish I had.
Thanks for the topic, Stella.
LMAO at "a woman's head smoking" 🤣 😂. I've been taking Evening primrose for as long as I can remember. Menopause can suddenly after my mums passing. I suspect that the grief brought it on suddenly 😮💨. My own hot flashes abi flushes na on another level. It got so debilitating that I was scared of leaving the house. But i gats to survive na!! Had to invest in multiple battery operated fans. As I dey charge phone, I dey charge fans ooo. I cannot come and go and kill myself oo
DeleteI'll be 35 this year, I had my last and 3rd baby in 2023 now I'm battling ankle and feet heel pains especially when I walk some distance daily to work (Mon-Fri). I get massages once in a while but it doesn't stop. I just don't want to eradicate walking daily. Kindly advise me. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteWarm up before you walk
DeleteHydration throughput the day is key
Bone broth and brisket bones are your friends
Vitamin d3 and k2
Vitamin C and calcium are key
Wow,learnt a lot
ReplyDeleteSo educative
ReplyDeleteThanks for this
