I was not properly informed and you know, when you are given an half baked information then be ready to dance to the music. I've been hearing about pressure Pot but I never see am physically, na just for Internet then I decided to save towards it. I hear say e dey cook things fast.

On Monday, Wify left home so early to meet up for office work then I decided to cook beans so I can eat before going for lecture . You need to see the way I ran out of the house I rented with my money. I wasn't informed that, pressure pot has timing. Naso I put water and pour the beans. The first sound I heard after 8mins made me scared. I was like, hope have not gone beyond my boundary.
After 35mins, another sound came up. Then. I went into the kitchen to open the pressure pot to see if the beans is cooked but never knew it Shouldn't be opened just like that but I wasn't informed (the thing wey I never use for my life). As I was trying to open the cover, the small round metal that serves as a cap to the second hole created on cover popped out, you need to see the way I ran out of my house. The only thing I know was, I saw myself outside and I began to ask myself why? When I went inside to check, the cap has broken the bulb in the kitchen and not only that, when i was trying to run for my life, i mistakenly hit the plate rack and the broken plates ended their usefulness. Only one left.
I ssweep everything thereafter, opened the pot but to my greatest surprise, beans don almost turn to gbegiri. I was like, is this how fast this thing is? When Wify came, I explained myself before she go enter kitchen dey look like say na another man kitchen she enter. Infact, she no help matter at all. She just dey use me dey laugh ooooo at the same time dey ask me when I go replace those plates. Can you imagine?

When cooking beans, just put the quantity of water that you know will cook it once…once the first sound rings, put off your gas and don’t remove the top led, the pressure will still be on and it can injure you when you try to remove it forcefully…after like few mins, check the led IG the pressure is off then remove the led , open the cover and put all your ingredients inside once ! Cover again and put on your gas till the sound rings again twice , your beans is ready
I don’t eat beans but I cook once in a while for the guys dem, aside that I use mine to boil goat meat, jollof rice , so nice

Beans get cooked in 20mins. Just put all the ingredients including oil and cover it tight.
Tough beef, like cow leg (bokoto) gets soft in 30mins
Corn too gets soft in 30mins
Chicken gets soft in 15mins max after boiling.
It starts making that first sound when it starts boiling, just start timing it when you hear that sound.
After putting down the pot, leave it to stay for 10 mins at least, before opening the tiny cover that rolls. Then when all the steam has been let out through that small hole where that tiny cover is, you can then open the main cover.
It's a life saver. Bought mine 5yrs ago when it was not that expensive.

To this day, I have never used one on my own, although they still use theirs. You are lucky the contents did not fly in your face. In the old days, long before you were born, they were known to explode. I think the ones they make today have better safety built in so they don’t explode if you use without good knowledge. Even Anthony Bourdain was afraid of them. I can forget that episode he ran out of the kitchen when the lady put her pressure cooker on the stove😂

Pinky part of your story reminds me of mine. I used mine to cook rice as I was in a hurry. In 10mins, rice turned to swallow. Though I already knew how to use it before cooking rice with it. I read manual and also check YouTube before using gadgets that I don't understand.
