In an interview with NBC, Trump said he might give TikTok 90 more days to work out a deal that would allow the platform to avoid a US ban.
TikTok had stopped working in the US late on Saturday night and disappeared from Apple and Google app stores.
The disappearance occurred ahead of a law that takes effect on Sunday (today), requiring the shutdown of the app.
By Sunday evening, some US users reported being able to access the Chinese-owned service’s website, while the TikTok app itself began coming back online for some users, albeit with limited functionality.
Earlier, TikTok released a statement saying, “In agreement with our service providers, TikTok is in the process of restoring service.”
The company also expressed gratitude to Trump for “providing the necessary clarity and assurance to our service providers that they will face no penalties (for) providing TikTok to over 170 million Americans and allowing over 7 million small businesses to thrive.”

Their joy was infectious. Loads of lovely videos 😁
ReplyDeleteThank God because how would they have survived boredom without TikTok? TikTok is not just for comedy alone, what pops up on my TikTok account are mainly educative, inspirational and informative, the app adds a lot of value to people who are sensitive enough to grab the opportunities therein . I don't know of other social media app but I can attest that TikTok does more good to it's users.
ReplyDeletewhat they should consider banning is pornography that adds no value to our lives.
Bv Makua or Maokua Oriflame , you said they should ban TikTok so that the people will turn to God? I don't know why you said so but I personally do not see how the app stops people from loving God. If they leave the app today, they will get distracted by worse activities you know ?
Good News , thanks to President Trump

ReplyDeleteTrump the action president!
I can't imagine banning tiktok in Nigeria, the boredom will be out of this world, the app is a great life saver, it's educative, entertaining, and more, with tiktok you don't have to worry much about your problems, the only problem is consumption of too much of data, it can suck data for Africa.
ReplyDeleteThank God for US people, that's the source of income for some people, I've learnt a lot from tiktok.
Go outside and touch grass. Y’all heading towards core addiction like play like play.
DeleteHobbies are now a thing of the past
I don't have TikTok and I have never used it. Aside WhatsApp and YouTube, I am not on any other Social media platform.
DeleteThis is great 👍 however people should not depends their source of income solely on social media because it only takes a new government policy to wipe it out.
