Singer Spyro And Ex Music Label Boss Ubi Franklin Trade Words Over Unpaid Debt

Singer Spyro and ex music executive, Ubi Franklin are accusing each other of igbese (debt)
While Spryo said he was deceived into performing at an event by Ubi and promised an underpayment which he was yet to get, Ubi accused Spyro of failing to give him an agreed percentage from a business they did.

Spyro made the revelation on the Echoroom podcast. He narrated that the issue began when Ubi Franklin told him that Davido wanted him to perform at a birthday party.

He said, “I have an issue with Ubi Franklin. He came and said David wanted us to perform at a birthday party he was invited to, that he was going to giv
e $5,000. I called him to the side and said I don’t charge that amount, by Nigeria currency I charge at least N20 million.
“After I was ambushed to perform, Ubi changed the narrative and said it wasn’t David behind the request.”

However, in response, Ubi Franklin tried to set the record straight, saying that Spyro owed him ten percent from a deal they did, and asked Spyro to send the balance of what is left since there was a deficit.

He wrote, ““Enough is enough. A while back, Spyro called me that he wanted to buy a car and I connected him. When I connect buyers with sellers, I get my own 10%. It’s a business. Later, he called me that, they should reduce their money that he would help them promote, and I told him they don’t need that. Just pay them their money.”
“He eventually bought the car for 100million, and I didn’t ask him for my 10%. Days after, we went to Ghana for Iyanya’s birthday. Spyro came with us. One of my guys in Ghana called us for a show after his initial artistes canceled on him. I told Iyanya and Spyro if they were interested that the pay was $5k.

“After the money was paid to me, I called Spyro regarding my 10% for the car, he said when he completes the car payment he would sort me out. After a while, I call him, he stopped picking my calls. The $5k is still with me. Tell him to pay me my 10% since he wants to malign my name.”

Both parties have now gone ahead to release private WhatsApp chats to prove their case.

    1. Caren, listen to Spyeo'd interview and you'll see Uby is at fault. First telling Spyro, Davido wants him to perform, and after performing saying the money is with someone. After 2 weeks, he still hasn't collected the money from the someone, and then Spyro finds out Davido is not even aware sef.

  7. Ubi your actions are embarrassing to say the least. business ethics and integrity are vital in business. Operating with transparency and honoring agreements is indeed crucial for sustainable business relationships and maintaining trust. Deceptive practices or changing terms after the fact can seriously damage one's reputation and relationships in the long run.

Davido needs to keep you at arm's length, Lying with his name/brand is crossing the line and you shouldn't remain in his inner circle.
Your 10% referral to buy a car not link me to make money is the car vendor's to give not the buyer. I wouldn't want someone claiming to help me but poking holes in my bag still faking friends.

Anyone doing business with UBI is at an all time HIGH risk. Collect all payment before starting. His highly unreliable and untrustworthy

  9. Ubi should pay him the money. The car company gave him 10% off. Why is he demanding for that 10% from Spyro?
