    3. It is not for others to pity your colleague, it’s for those who are in the profession to work from good ethics and do not bring disrepute to the profession. Teachers cannot dole out corporal punishment in the classroom because there will always be children who are more challenging to instruct because of any number of unknown reasons. Imagine beating a child who may have a learning delay due to a health reason or one who is experiencing physical or sexual abuse at home and who is acting out because of that trauma experience. Teachers have no idea what is happening to a child physiologically, emotionally or mentally and that is why they do not get to beat children. They may be adding trauma to that child’s life.
