Parents Cry Out For Justice As Their 2 Year Old Daughter Dies In School....

This is so sad!!!

Grief-stricken parents of a two-year-old girl, Ella, are seeking justice following the tragic death of their daughter at Smiley School International, Sangotedo, Lagos Island, on January 15, 2025.

The parents allege negligence and deception on the part of the school, calling for urgent intervention from the Lagos State Government.

In an emotional plea, the family revealed their daughter left home healthy to attend school but never returned alive.

“Our daughter of 2 years old went to school yesterday and did not return alive,” the parents said.

The school initially claimed the child drowned in the pool, but the parents dispute this explanation, alleging a cover-up. “They lied she drowned in the pool, but we have been able to find out it’s electrocution, and they dropped her in the pool to make it look as if it was drowning,” the parents alleged.

The family also raised critical questions about the safety measures at the school. “How do you have a pool in school premises without proper monitoring? The pool has barricades—how can a child of 2 years climb?” they questioned.

Adding to their anguish, the parents accused the school of misleading other parents. “They are lying to other parents that the school is closed because of maintenance instead of telling the truth,” they said.

Ella, who recently celebrated her second birthday in November, tragically lost her life under circumstances her parents describe as preventable. “She just celebrated her 2-year birthday last November, left home well for school on ?15/1/2024, and never came back alive,” the parents lamented.

The grieving family urged the Lagos State Government to take immediate action, warning that other families could face similar tragedies if the school remains operational. “If nothing is done to close down that school, other parents may cry for their own kids attending the school,” they said.

The parents also issue a warning to families whose children are enrolled in Smiley School International. “Please, if you have your child in that school, be aware—they lied that they are closed due to maintenance,” they stated.

Their final plea was a heartbreaking request for support: “Please help us get justice for our baby. We can’t bear this alone. I lost my pinky Ella.”

    1. Hey God another careless death!! Lord please have mercy on us because we have no value for human lives, we lay emphasis so much money over safety of lives....What kind of thing is this....Is there no state educational inspectorate that checks these schools and their facilities regularly?

This is so hard, Rest in peace, baby Ella...A lot of people failed you...

  2. Electrocuted, and dropped in the pool. Jeeeeeez! That's evil. Why have wires laying around? Ok, if she drowned, is it that there was no one watching her when she left her class and went to the pool. Why was the pool left opened? A lot of unanswered questions. May her soul rest in peace.

It was just negligence on the part of the school, even though their fees cost an arm and a leg,why couldn't they have monitored her, knowing how restless toddlers can be?

  11. Father Lord!
    How did this happen ?
A two years is still a toddler and should be at home either with a nanny or the mother. Some two years are still suckling and not even properly weaned.

I know most parents are busy with work but a toddler of two at school for heaven's sake, parents can do better.
    Hire a nanny.
    Play paw patrol on dish.
    Sing along alphabets and numbers.
It's the same thing they do at schools.

    This is sad.

    2. This is what came to my mind when I saw the 2 years. who do you blame. if the mum stay at home now any little quarrel the father would asked the woman what she is bringing to the table. So woman have decided to work and the kids we should tend to are left to navigate alone at tender ages.God help mother's.

  14. This child is so beautiful and joyful in that photo, you just know she brought a lot of joy to everyone around her. I wish her parents and loved ones God's divine peace and healing.

I hope the government gets involved. I would think that with a child of that age dying on the school premises in a swimming pool that they were not swimming in, that it would have been reason enough for both the ministry of education and the government to do a full investigation.
