How long will they continue doing this? Definitely after few months, they will stop and the hardship continues. Why not improve the economy and create employment. Reduce the cost of petrol so other things can fall in place. Agresduvely commercialize agriculture by helping more farmers to produce more. Tackle insecurity head-on. This is the only palliative that will benefit every Nigerian instead of the metre 75,000 stipend that won't be enough for a family.

Government do not create jobs, business do. Outside of civil service jobs there is not much power in employment that governments have. What they can do is make the country more favourable to investors and that is a two edged sword, or provide some hiring incentives to existing businesses. Since business are profit driven enterprises, income is one area they regularly skimp on when they enter foreign markets. They never really ever pay the workers the same wages that they do in their homeland or even close to it. One can only hope for ethical industries, which are few and far between.
DeleteEverything you have stated takes time. Some would take a few years before results would be seen. The agriculture one is probably the quickest one but the government would likely have to control the price in some way to ensure that consumers benefit. Small farmers cannot be omitted. Small farmers are a very valuable part of the agriculture chain and need to be supported just as much as big farmers.
Keep in mind too that with a population of almost 300 million, these 70 million people are likely those at the lowest or no income. I don’t know if I can get angry at the destitute getting some relief.
I hope it gets to me, even if it in my wildest dreams. 😂😂😂
