  5. The judge that sentenced him needs to be called out, only God knows what other kind of heavy sentences he has given to other people. Cases he has worked on in the past needs to be reviewed

    1. Make una rest. Judges are bound by the law and Evidence in each case.

    2. This is what social media has turned us to, calling people out for no reason.
Go and google, he broke into a policeman's house with a wooden gun and sword to rob but escaped with poultry. What would you have done if you were the judge, is that not a case of robbery?
Just thank God for giving him a second chance instead of this fake online wokism!.

    3. His father explained that picture: the Dane guns belong to their hunter neighbours. The policeman took that picture after his father reported the case to a distant relative of governor Oyinlola because he could only raise 20,000 of the 30,000 naira bribe each accused victim was ordered to pay by the policeman. The police man felt slighted at the father's power play and then roped his son with that picture. This same police man would later testify at the court hearing that Segun had nothing to do with the crime but Segun 's uncle changed his earlier claim about him being a participant on the stand to saying Segun was actually the kingpin because of his anger about losing his chickens despite knowing that his nephew was not at the scene, the other boys admitted he was not a part of them and Segun doesn't eat chicken which the others shared and ate. .

Many are quick to blame a distant federal government for their challenges but the way they abuse their little power and influence will make you see politicians as saints.

  7. I must be the only one that doesn't feel pity for him. Y'all might think he stole
something insignificant but only the victim knows the extent of damage that singular act did to them. Every thief deserve whatever punishment they get. And this should serve as a deterrent to other aspiring thieves.

    2. My sentiment too. what if he was armed? I really want to know what he tried doing to the victim or maybe what he went with to steal the fowl

    3. Very nearly all caught felons are wrongly accused. Go ask about him in his neighbourhood. Is it not a surprise people from there are silent on his case for clemency?

  8. Not only you Miss Aboki, what someone considers insignificant could be someone else’s all in all. Besides, I read he was armed with a weapon when he went to steal which changed his crime from stealing to armed robbery hence the sentencing he got.
I wonder why people are calling out the judge.
While acknowledging the kindness of the governor in showing him compassion and releasing him, let’s all be careful not to pass the wrong message to the younger ones.

  11. I share your sentiment too @Miss Aboki, he should just thank God the governor granted him clemency. Others should learn and desist from evil doing, they might not be lucky like him.
