This initiative, aimed at reducing youth unemployment and promoting economic self-sufficiency, is part of the governor’s broader effort to empower young people with practical skills.
The Livestock and Horticulture Institute, located in Bagauda, Bebeji Local Government Area, was reopened on November 9, 2024, when the governor issued admission letters to 340 students.
The first batch of graduates has now completed their training, and a second batch of 340 trainees has already been enrolled.
In a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Dawakin-Tofa, on Thursday, it was announced that each livestock graduate would receive either two bulls or two rams, alongside three months’ worth of animal feed.
Governor Yusuf emphasised the importance of the programme in addressing poverty, empowering youths, and advancing food security in Kano State.
“The graduates from the Livestock Institute are not just embarking on personal development; they are now vital stakeholders in ensuring food security in Kano State and across Nigeria.

ReplyDeleteEntrepreneurship is the way to go with the present state of the economy.
They should also teach them the business aspect of the skill
Not that they will have a skill but won't know how to monetize it
