He said that God will not fail to expose those involved in sponsoring criminal activities in the state and expressed gratitude to the congregation for joining the Armed Forces to celebrate the Mass as a prelude to 15 January proper, while reiterating that the celebration was necessary because the peace being enjoyed today is a result of the supreme price paid by the fallen officers in their efforts to keep the nation together and at peace.
He added: “It is in the wisdom of the Federal Government that the period is set aside to pray for the souls of these, our brothers and sisters, and to commiserate with their families to bear the loss with fortitude.”
Governor Uzodinma said that his administration is doing its best to support the Armed Forces to keep and maintain peace, while noting that the ugly stories about the state are now a thing of the past.
He reiterated his invitation to those hiding in the bush to commit crimes to come out and to have it at the back of their minds that his government is ready to embrace them, as long as they are willing to lay down their arms.
“Politics will come and go, governors will come and go, Imo State will remain,”
he cautioned against people encouraging vandalism, killing, and maiming of innocent and vulnerable citizens for no just cause, asserting that at the end of the day, all will answer for their deeds before God.
Uzodinma further prayed to God to give citizens the courage to condemn evil by speaking out against it.
