Former President Obasanjo Says He Is A Christian But He Does Not Joke With Ifa...

Former president Olusegun Obasanjo has explained why he is a Christian but does not joke with Ifa....

''For whatever reason we must preserve our culture, we must not joke with our culture. We are being relegated to the background, our language is being relegated, our food, our dress and others. We must not allow it. They are things that are authentic Yoruba is not vernacular.
I am a Christian; I attended two churches today and that does not mean that I should forget my culture. Whoever says that ifa is nothing, I will say that person is a fool.
Before Christianity and Islam, we have ifa Orunmila meaning olorun lo mo eni to ma la “it is heaven that knows who will be saved”

  1. Our Culture is our identity no matter the circumstances.

But the best thing that can happen to any believer is having Jesus Christ.

    DOZZYBEST.

    1. Arguing spirituality with people is a waste of time

Every body should do what works for them

    2. Most yorubas are like Obasanjo. They are practising Christians and Muslims but in the evenings, they must consult with Babalawo/Iyalawo as well as belong to Freemasonry, ROF, Osugbo, Aborigine, etc

    3. Obasanjo cannot be the Balogun of Owu (a traditional title) without being a member of the Ogboni/Osugbo Fraternity (of which the Ifa oracle is the underlying medium of worship).

    4. Anon 00:55, always amazing when people like you open your mouth to make ignorant statements with confidence.
How many Yorubas do you know personally to talk this confidently, would it not be better for you to have said you are speaking about the Yorubas you know instead of saying most Yorubas

  4. Following the Lord Jesus Christ and serving Him with all of my heart is the best thing that has happened to me and I believe it's the same with a lot of people.
I don't believe in mixing both.

    To each his/her own.

  9. Give ifa what belongs to ifa and God what belongs to God. " For I am the Lord your God,thou shall not serve any other God before me". You cannot serve God and mammoth.
I and my family will serve only God.

  10. So many African religious and spiritual practices from coast to coast, the vast majority of which are completely benign. The push to make the continent Christian or Islamic is so disturbing. Must Black ppl be robbed of everything that is theirs to make way for what came from outside? Especially from groups of people who were not even good to us and treated us like garbage for thousands of years. Practice what you believe in but do not support your erasure. Preserve the good things of your culture, whatever is wrong or of no good report can be departed from, but tossing it all out for whom or for what.
