The suspect, Monday Elela, who is a father of seven, allegedly buried the son in a shallow grave in their home in Ajowa-Akoko, Akoko North West Local Government Area of the state.
Elela, a bricklayer and farmer in connivance with his wife, who is on the run, purportedly committed the crime in order to put a permanent stop to the embarrassment their deceased son had been bringing to the family.
According to the suspect, who was paraded along with some suspected criminals at the state headquarters of the Nigerian Police in Akure, the state capital, he did not kill his son but only beat him after he escaped from the custody of the Amotekun Corps.
Operatives of the Ondo State Police Command have apprehended a 34-year-old man for allegedly killing his son, Tope, 14, over stealing.

Oh Chim🙆♀️ parents from hell, I know it’s embarrassing and shameful but that’s not enough to kill their own child now… what happens to prayers? They should have been praying for him to change instead of killing him in cold blood and burying him in a shallow grave ❗️i hope the police investigate wella

DeleteChai the man was frustrated. Some children can push their parents to the extreme. I have one in my area that are silently praying for their only son to be killed and they will celebrate. The kind disgrace that evil son has brought to them eeh.

ReplyDeleteTerrible thing to do 😫 He could still be amended@'14. We have juvenile correction homes in the country. My former church member's son was always with hoodlums smoking india helm & all sorts after school &'the parents have done all they could to stop his bad behaviour...beating, prayers, fasting, church counseling etc...So they took him to a correctional facility 🏬 He became born again there, did his SSCE, learnt hand crafts. Last I heard, he's a Lawyer practising in UK 👍

ReplyDeleteHow ironic it is that he supposedly wanted to stop the thieving and so-called embarrassment on the family from his son’s actions and what he did has created the greatest embarrassment possible for a family. What is more embarrassing for any family than to have a murderer in the family, and a father who killed his own son. The family will become a pariah and the children will have to live with the stigma all their lives.
