More than 18 transmission towers have been vandalized within six days, the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, said on Sunday.
The facilities were destroyed between January 9 and 14, according to a statement by the TCN General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah.

 The Caretaker Committee of the Labour Party (LP) has said it will seek further clarification on the party’s leadership dispute at the Supreme Court.

. The 774 local governments are to open dedicated accounts with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for the direct disbursement of allocations from the Federation Account, the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON, said on Sunday.

Gunmen on Sunday invaded a Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) in Idiroko, Ipokia Local Government Area of Ogun State, and shot dead a 54-year-old Prophet, Yomi Adetula.
It was gathered that the hoodlums stormed the CCC Eagle Parish along Baggage Road, Odo Eran, Idiroko, around 10:30 a.m. and opened fire during the service.

 Operatives of the Imo Police Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit have reportedly dismantled a notorious kidnapping syndicate terrorizing Ubomiri, Ogbaku, and Ohii communities in the Mbaitoli Local Government Area of the state.

 The Federal Government has set up a committee of stakeholders to investigate the remote and immediate causes of Saturday’s petrol tanker accident at Dikko Junction, Dikko-Maje Minna Road, Gurara Local Government Area (LGA), Niger State.
As of Sunday, the death toll rose to 86, with 55 others confirmed injured. Eighty corpses were recovered and given a mass burial at the Dikko Primary Health Center premises.
