“Somebody wrote on my YouTube channel that I am a water child that is why I am always acting horror movies, listen I am not a water child in fact it was when I came to the east, I knew that there are people that are water children I have never heard of such because my mother is an evangelist, my mother is a deliverance minister so there is no way you will be a water child and be around my mother.
I am not against people that are water children in this life, do what works for you it might be working for them, I love everyone, I don’t discriminate. I always pray to God before I delve into rivers to film nothing that has happened to me. No evil spirit shall come near me because he that is in me is greater, I serve a living God. ReplyDeleteIt's of recent that I saw mermaid videos on internet that I believe there are such creatures. When they talk about manmy water or all these ' ogbanjes' I don't believe it exists. My question is that if it does exist, why can't they go where they belong? what are they doing on the land while they belong to water.

ReplyDeleteThe woman has just being typecasted, what every actor works to avoid in their career. It is she who will have to stop taking those roles when offered and work to find other roles. Sometimes actors become so desperate they keep taking the same roles so they can pay their bills. There were some actors who always placed the role of village elders, you never saw these men playing different roles. These were the lower end roles and they never got to achieve financial security because they were never paid well. She better get out of these roles and start showing that she is an actress with range.

DeleteSaint Gwen, thank you for this tidbit that I was completely unaware of. If that is the case, then she is not being typecasted, she is being intentional with the entertainment that she puts out for public consumption. This certainly puts a different spin on things. I wonder why it is so important for her to focus solely on mammy water movies consistently. I don't watch those mystical Nollywood movies because they usually are repulsive in some way, never seen a good one. Nollywood does poorly at horror and sci-fi/fantasy, still waiting for a great adventure movie too. All these mystical movies end up doing is turning your stomach with the vileness and vomit inducing filth they display, depending on shock values to make them seem interesting while leaving the viewer traumatized afterwards. There is a place for African mysticism on the big screen, ancient stories need to be told, it just needs to be done right, and be actually engaging and entertaining.
