Actress Lizzy Gold Apologizes To The Igbos For Wearing A Masquerade Costume

Nollywood actress Lizzy Gold has apologised to the Igbo people after facing backlash for wearing a masquerade costume in a viral video.
In a video posted on her Instagram page, she explained that she had worn the costume for a movie role and had equally taken the necessary precautions to show homage for the cultural tradition.

"I'm sorry to all the Igbo people, the Igbo soil has blessed me a whole lot and I have no right to disrespect your culture and tradition. But it was for a movie. You know, everyone knows I love epic stories. I love to tell epic deep stories and sometimes when I get into character, I I forget and cross some boundaries"

  3. In this 21st century when people are breaking new grounds in science and technology, I mean in this era of knowledge explosion, we are still held in bondage to some inconsequential traditions. Pray tell why won’t we continue to be a backward race.
