AEDC has been doing ten ten with our light these days. Yesterday evening, around 6:20 pm, I went to get something at a nearby shop. As I was walking, I heard someone crying by a car bonnet. I decided to mind my business like others who would have seen her there.. On my way back, I saw her again still crying intermittently and talking to herself. I was afraid to go closer thinking someone might be in the car. This is December, people use all format to obtain others. I looked around and picked a big stick. Armed my mind on what to do Incase of anything . This road is a close, not so busy. I went closer to her, gently tapped her on the shoulder, she turned, I apologized for disturbing her, I asked if she was okay. She didn’t respond, so I asked if I could give her a hug. She opened her arms, and I hugged her tightly. She let out a deep sob on my shoulder. I had no idea people were watching her from afar. They started to gather around, but I just let her cry. I felt emotional too,
ReplyDeleteOnce I noted she had stopped crying I let her go and asked if she needed another hug or someone to talk to. She nodded, but I could not tell if it meant for another hug or a conversation. I hugged her again, and this time she held on to me for almost ten minutes without letting go. When she finally released me, she said with a calm voice, "Thank you. God bless you. I was already too emotional to speak, so I just nodded.
I held her hand, walked her to the junction, and she opened up to me. Someone she trusted so much betrayed her. She told a lie against her and the other party believed the lie. She has tried so hard for months to convince the third party that it was a lie to no avail.
She asked for my number but I told her it's more convenient to get hers as I will like to get back to her. She did.
