  4. Please my people, how do you know when ogbono has done (properly cooked) when cooking ogbono soup.
I know for egusi soup, when you see the oil separate and float on top of the soup, you will know that the egusi is well cooked and done. But I don't know what to look out for when cooking ogbono soup. There was a time I ate half done ogbono because of this.🤦
    Cooking legends, please help.

    1. How to know a well-cooked ogbono is (1) Add your mixed ogbono/palm oil into your boiling meat stock and allow it to simmer for like 30 minutes, the colour of the ogbono will be darker than brighter

      (2) Use your cooking spoon to check that all the ogbono has dissolved and it is drawing very well

      (3) Also taste it while cooking, from the taste you will know...

      (4) Oil separation too will tell you that it is well cooked

    2. That is me o @Acenene 😀

I don't even mind ordering out of the state ,but how am I sure they won't tamper with it in the bus parks before it gets to me? Any recommendations for where I can get quality palm oil in Lagos?

    1. Make sure to wear light clothes, e.g cotton to allow your skin breathe.....

Bathe at least 2 times a day to wash off the sweat from your body...

Ensure to air out your clothes if you need to wear them more than once....

Use moju powder (a local powder that is very efficient in treating rashes)....

      See a Doctor asap

    3. See a doctor, you might have an infection.

      Delete
    4. On what part of the body do you have the rash?

Pls state so we can adequately advise or refer you to your GP

Not all rash are infections, some could be due to hot and humid weather conditions and can easily be resolved with good hygiene practices.

Some people also develop rash when on some malaria medications.

The location of the rash will help us advise sufficiently.
For instance, if the rash is in the privates, you can not apply things that upsets the privates flora.

      I hope you see this...

    3. With that amount, you can get a Samsung phone. A15..

Also, if you don't like Samsung then you can go for redmi. There are new series of redmi that are so cool, good, and durable

    4. Redmi 14c with 8gb ram and 128gb or 256gb storage..

Not up to 200k;the best phone in the market currently for anyone in a budget.

If you can make it 300k;then go for the Redmi note 13 of 8gb ram and 256gb storage.

Kindly go with this;others are over priced,no regrets from everyone I know who bought it.

      Hope this helps.

    2. You can get Samsung A164GB/ 128 for your mum. The phone just came out last month. And current price is #248,600 with Nigeria warranty.

    3. Mr Martin, I'm the first anon still waiting for your response 🙏

      Delete
    4. Hi @Anon13:25;at least 30 mins if you are in a rush;but if you aren't;just leave it for one hour..

Reason is so the glue and every other thing can blend together on the phone before another object(screenguard) gets on the surface.

If you don't allow it blend, and fix the screenguard,it might start misbehaving (tapping something else and another thing pops up);and at that point it's too late to return the screen to the seller;cos it has been glued to your screen..so you loose your money.

      Hope this helps..

      @MARTINS

    5. Hi @13:50.

Best shot for that budget is the Samsung A24..4gb ram,128gb storage..

If you want to cut cost,go for Samsung A16..but the above is greater, just incase you want to go all out for your mum.

      Good battery,nice camera,great processor.

      Hope this helps.

    2. 1. Everyone won’t marry. Make peace with this.
Step 2 : Make active choices to make yourself stand out :
      -Improve your career if possible
-Start jogging and stay fit. Jogging is free.
-Be fashion conscious; look good always. You can do this on a budget.
-Go out and mingle, attend events.
      - Be nice to people and keep in touch.
      Step 3 : Don’t be desperate
      Step 4 continue praying
Step 5: repeat all steps above

      Oh dear Poster
Please ,understand that God is not a magician ,you cannot hurry Him.

Serve God because you love Him don't expect anything from Him that oh ,am serving you because I want you to give me a husband. He can see your heart so He knows your motives ,serve him because that is what is required of us
Just serve Him truthfully and see how He works in your life

  15. Pls which would you advise money or food items to staff as gift?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Money, so they can get what they want.

      Delete
    2. Gifts. Buy rice let them share

      Delete
    3. Food items will linger longer in their memory.
The money will be appreciated but it will just be like someone dashing you money - it may not wow them as they will end up eating their regular meal eg indomie, drinking garri.
When you give them food items they must eat it which maybe a special meal for some of them and they will surely remember this.

      Delete
    4. Food items like a live chicken, 10kg or 5kg bag of rice with vegetable oil.

      Delete
    5. Household staff or business staff? Consider what you would appreciate if you were in their shoes. Do you know them well and what is happening in their lives?

You could craft personal gifts specific to their needs if it's a small group. If you are going to do food, it has to be significant and an amount that will make it feel worthwhile as a gift. Add treats like chocolate and drinks. Money, as in a cash bonus is always welcomed, again make it feel worthwhile like it covers the year of service and shows your appreciation. But not so much that they may resent you thinking you are so above them, unless they already know this. Find the right balance that creates appreciation and that protects you.

    1. Blogger selects phones since middle of last year till date..

On literally almost all iphones starting from XR above;you can hardly see your blog ID even when browsers are changed.

On Androids it's selective,so change your browser to either Brave,Microsoft web edge or Puffin, then see if it would work for you.

Sorry about the inconveniences,it's a blogger issue, not the blog.

      Hope this helps.

  19. Please how do i treat lapalapa on my children head?hair no dy grow for d place of d head again oh.abeg una help me

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. First off, get your own clipper instead of using public clippers. If you cannot afford it, once they get a hair cut, ensure you wash their hair/heads with antiseptic soap or with soap and dettol.....

Use Osan wewe (Lime juice and salt) to gentle scrub those areas with lapalapa....
      OR
You get any steroid-free antifungal ointment from your local pharmacy...

      OR
Buy Damatol or any menthol hair cream to help remove the lapalapa.....

      Delete
    2. Buy fulcin tablet and give them half tablet per day for five days. While at it, buy visita cream and be applying it on their heads after bathing. Lastly, Change their barber

      Delete
    3. Rub relaxer on it. It will clear off the fungi. Most anti fungal creams are substandard by my experience

      Delete
  20. By lapalapa, i assume you mean ringworm. Popularly known as Tinea Capitis (ringworm of the scalp).
Still hygiene related, and it spreads to every part of the scalp if not checked or controlled.

    1. What your child needs is a good anti fungal tablet and cream suitable for his age.
Take the child to see a doctor in a general hospital or health center. Or a licensed Pharmacist preferably.

    2. Although some parents treat it locally with Okin anti bacterial soap and scrapping of scalp. But its not a guarantee that it will cure it from inside permanently.

Pls go with the first advice. Best !

  21. I tried the Sim-le facial cleanser.

    I really dont like it.

Please any other good facial cleansers that you know I can use?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Try Nineless Facial Cleaner with Azelaic Acid

      Delete
    2. Cerave , dang,
On a budget: simple, face facts, dove soap

      Delete
    3. Also, it depends on what you want from it. Salicylic acid?, hydration? Anti acne? Etc

      Delete
    4. Just use black soap. It is deep cleaning and 100% natural made with organic products, not sitting in a plastic bottle leaching chemicals into it. Cleansers are not staying on your face long enough to do anything magical, rub on and wash off, so just stick with something simple and easy to get.
