The event, held at Islamic High School, Bashorun, was overwhelmed by a large crowd, causing chaos when gifts were being distributed
Agidigbo Fm also released a Press statement denying that it organised the event....

This is so horrible. Why have they not learned anything from previous events and open giveaways and the problem they create. How many times will this happen before ppl get it. Last year it was rice, same loss of lives, now it’s children.
ReplyDeleteCreating order and crowd control needs to be done at these events. And that does not mean just having security, it has to be built into the event, if it cost a little bit more to avoid tragedy then so be it.
May the souls of those who lost their lives rest in peace.
Amen π
DeleteQuite sad π’
Chai, oh! God why they were not organized nah

ReplyDeleteMay God rest the poor kids soul.
This is so sad!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sad and Heart~wrecking Story
ReplyDeleteThe Organisers should have done better
What a sad news π’

Sad one
ReplyDeleteProphetess Naomi trending for the wrong reasons, Oluwa ma je ka shi ore shey
May the Lord comfort the parents of the kids
Well, we know now her azz ain’t no real prophetess, that’s for sure. I have nothing against her but this is an epic tragedy and it appears that the so-called “fun fair” lacked proper organization. May be another case of monies being diverted into the pockets of unscrupulous individuals instead of being spent on proper organization and ensuring order and safety. Time will reveal.
DeleteI hope a full and complete investigation is done into this. Accountability and restitution needs to be enforced.
Prophetess???
DeleteReal fake Prophetess. Why didn't she foresee the tragedy?
DeleteOh my Godππ
ReplyDeleteThis is heartbreaking π
So sad.
ReplyDeleteThis is painful. May their souls rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteSo bad and so painful.
ReplyDeleteKai,this is sooo sad
ReplyDeleteIt's very sad, they never envisaged it would turn out this way. I read it that 30 children has lost their lives. So sad.
ReplyDeleteOoni of Ife's ex wife, Queen Naomi is the owner of the event. It's such a pity.
ReplyDeleteStella, the event had not yet started when the stampede started. Hundreds of people slept over at the venue of the event so they will get gifts early.
I know of a few cases where events were cancelled when the organizers realized that they would not be able to control the event, or there was a fire code violation because more ppl showed up than were permitted to safely be in the building. I really wished someone had the presence of mind to cancel the even when they saw the size of the crowd.
DeleteThis is one reason I don’t really do free events. I hate massive crowds and events that promise free prizes and gifts, cause ppl act funny and go wild.
This is so sad.
ReplyDeleteThe conveners of these kinds of events should always make sure that there is proper organization to forstall this kind of tragedy.
ReplyDeleteEven though they meant well, see how it turned out.
May the souls of the departed, rest in perfect peace.
This is so sad. May their young souls rest in peace. It's lack of organisation. The giving back to the community organised by my church was with a gate pass,to avoid stampede. πππ
ReplyDeleteThis is so sad. It's unfortunate that better crowd control measures weren't in place to prevent this.
ReplyDeleteDo organisers ever learn?
Stellz, have you reached out to Pinky to make sure he and his family are ok?
ReplyDeleteThe event was for children. Those that have kids took their kids there. What would Pinky and wife be doing there?
DeleteThis is sad.
ReplyDeleteThe event was aired days before on radio, they knew the crowd will be massive. Crowd control should have been enforced.
God, this is so painful .
Very sad! If the giveaway done on this blog had been organized in physical locations, wahala for dey!. Imagine people passing the night at the venueπ
