Every state needs to take measures to avoid such tragedy. Every community and local government area need to take measures. Happy occasions cannot be allowed to become funerals. Let's all take on a mindset of safety consciousness.

ReplyDeleteMay the souls of the children rest in peace
This is really disheartening and sad to think that some of these children parents have bought their Christmas and new year clothes and shoes already, constantly reminding them of their demise, ahh! I feel so terrible right now reading these.....May their innocent gentle souls rest in peace........... Josaria
ReplyDeleteReally unfortunate. 😌😌😌
ReplyDeleteMay God comfort their families... may their souls rest in peace
ReplyDeleteWhat is there to investigate? Hunger drove the people out of their bed to the venue when the organizers and sponsors were still on their bed and yet to put up crowd control resources. The event was scheduled at 10 am and I’m sure that was they planned to at least have their workers there by 8 am, who would Imagine that people were gathered at the venue and it was packed full at 5 am. Nigeria happened to them oh nothing else.it is laughable that both state and federal governments are investigating, and who will investigate the investigators? Where is police around or was there no security breach information to the police around that time. Standard practice for police to be stationed anywhere they suspect security breach, they don’t have to be called before they can station their cars around that premises. It is the state and government responsibility to safe guard the community before the event and during the event which was scheduled 10am.poor girl at queen Naomi, no one told her the level of massive hunger on ground. The government failed the people of Ibadan full stop. Later ask the people why they are japaing, in the name esteem world, police would be there to control the people and crowd before the time of the event. I see them stationed at large churches abroad.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right
DeleteSo on point!
DeleteEasiest thing is to just blame government, so you are planning an event for a crowd of 5,000 but don't think it's necessary to involve the local government or the police. is a permit not needed.
DeleteSame way some people think their only responsibility is to organise a protest or demonstration but are never concerned about planning/ coordination or crowd control, they know that people will end up blaming the government as usual while they will go scot free.
People have died in poorly constructed church buildings but all these activists still blame government, look at the people who died in the catholic church gathering in Aba some weeks ago.
Nigerians need to start realising that that there is huge responsibility in pulling a large crowd
So with all this your talk, common sense did not tell them to put in measures to control the crowd or even cancel the party. Every blame should not always be on the government, the organizers too are guilty. I know government don do us shege, but common, we are talking of lives here. People lost their kids because of what could have been controlled.
DeleteI know you want to excuse the lady and blame the government as usual, but think if you’ve lost any of your relative there will you type this.
If everyone thought like you then seatbelt laws would not exist today, hygiene practices in medicine would not be a thing, street lights would not be invented and self shut off irons and kettles would not exist, and let's not mention antibiotics or surgery. We use the unfortunate things that happen as guides on how to make life better for all.
DeletePerhaps the culture also needs to examine itself and see where it can improve. Maybe orderliness is lacking. I remember how the world marveled at the Japanese ppl and their orderliness when the big earthquake devastated someplace there. But do ppl in Nigeria truly desire to be orderly? One thing I have noticed is that many love the orderliness of other countries when they get there but some how they don't seem to care as much about implementing such order in their own country. In fact, upon their return they go right back to being what they were. I do not know if it a mindset that such things they don't deserve or cannot do, only outsiders can do it, I don't really know.
There has to be a great push in the collective for something in a culture to change. No great push has been made even with ritualism and no great push has been made in creating orderly or clean cities. People complain everyday but what do they really want?
God Please.
ReplyDeleteThis is an Unfortunate Circumstances.
All The Organisers wanted was to give Back to Innocent Children unfortunately Hunger in the Land Turned the Occassion to Misery . Tainting and taunting a Good Gesture.
